Looking for a hairdryer that will dry my hair quickly

Can anyone recommend a hairdryer that saves drying time? I have long, thick hair that I dry in sections, but it takes a while to do and I hate it! I am tempted by the Dyson but does it really save drying time? It would be an expensive mistake if not!

I've got one. It's quicker, less hot and the result is les frizzy.

Carycy · 13/03/2021 12:54

Any professional standard one like a parlux or diva, otherwise a dysonI have a dyson and a diva. Both are good. The diva is more robust and will prob outlast the dyson. It gets hotter so probably damages my hair a tiny bit more. The dyson i think drys almost as fast without damaging as much. But it is three times the price.

Parlux ionic hairdryer - they're great.

crayolacom · 13/03/2021 12:56

Dyson

WithIcePlease · 13/03/2021 12:56

The dyson here too
I loathe drying my hair though so anything that makes it quicker is super
Actually my longer lockdown hair better to as much less faff than shorter

Seriously tempted to get a Dyson!

Parlux! I bought mine 10 years ago & it’s still going strong. It dries my long thick hair so quickly.

justawoman · 13/03/2021 13:54

My diva dries my long thick hair very quickly. I do think it might make it a bit dry though but I’m content to use moisturising shampoos etc though for the convenience of having it go from soaked to dry in well under 5 minutes!

ShrimpSymphony · 13/03/2021 13:56

The Dyson dries mine the quickest and less frizziest I’ve ever had. It also dries my long haired dogs very quickly too. It’s so light and easy to hold too it’s worth every penny imo.

AsCoolAsKimDeal · 13/03/2021 14:01

Parlux Compact

Bananaman123 · 13/03/2021 14:03

Ive had parlux for years, dry quicklly but the attachment and dryer gets very hot. Treated myself to the dyson and love it dries quickly and at lower temp. Few deals for them so shop arond, i got mine from qvc £300 and came with red travel case. Boots do points on electrical items so another way to save.

Another vote for parlux.

Bananaman123 · 13/03/2021 14:04

this one can also pay in 4 installments

Alternista · 13/03/2021 14:05

A clarifying shampoo once a week and (don’t freak out) washing my hair with washing up liquid once every eight weeks or so has more than halved the drying time of my bra strap length super thick hair. It isn’t dry at all- soft and shiny- I do condition it religiously though.

SpeckledyHen · 13/03/2021 14:08

Parlux

Yellow85 · 13/03/2021 14:09

I liked my dyson but I’ve switched to the airwrap now and use the drier bit with the brush attachments. So much quicker and easier as your not faffing with a brush in one hand a drier in the other! Also felt I got more for my money with all the other style attachments.

Letseatgrandma · 13/03/2021 14:13

I have a Dyson and it’s great-I reckon it’s cut down on drying time loads.

OnceBitten25 · 13/03/2021 14:24

Another vote for Parlux Ionic 👍🏼

NuzzleandScratch · 13/03/2021 14:34

Not quite what you asked, but get a microfibre towel, hugely cuts down drying time! Agree with suggestion of Dyson, although haven't tried the others.

fiorentina · 13/03/2021 14:45

I do definitely recommend the Dyson.

Mosaic123 · 13/03/2021 15:25

I agree with the microfiber towel thing. I have a pull on one, like a shower hat, from Amazon which cost a very small amount. You could buy two and use one after another.

ElderMillennial · 13/03/2021 15:28

I've got the Dyson and it is faster and quieter than other dryers. It is also expensive and not a necessity. I had a £100 voucher that I put towards it that made it slightly more affordable.

shonapop · 13/03/2021 15:29

QVC are selling a Dyson at the moment. Why don't you buy from there and you have a 60 day money back guarantee if you don't like it. Can also pay in instalments.

M0rT · 13/03/2021 15:29

I haven't tried a Dyson but had a Parlux for years for long thick hair recommended by my hairdresser. Still took 30 minutes but when I asked her about the Dyson she said it would be lighter to hold but not any quicker for me.

elmfield4 · 13/03/2021 15:31

Parlux definitely! I'm a hairdresser and I really wouldn't use anything else as I've found nothing else dries the hair quite like one Smile
