How many pairs of jeans do you own?

I've just bought a new pair which arrived today. I really like them and they're a different shape from any I already have but I do already own:

5 pairs blue jeans ( all different shapes and I'm throwing one in the jumble)
1 pair black jeans
2 pairs skinny cords

Is that usual? I wear jeans a lot in the winter but not at all June to mid September.

How many pairs do you have?

Six pairs, plus two pairs of casual chinos that I wear a lot in the summer instead of jeans. Every pair is skinny or slim, mix of high and mid rise.

This was a massive reduction for me. I used to have 18 pairs...

TeacupDrama · 02/03/2021 16:43

0 hate the uncomfortable garment

BreakfastOfWaffles · 02/03/2021 16:46

I have three, but then again, only one shape of jean really suits me so I tend not to deviate from that! I have one indigo, one white and one light blue pair.

2020nymph · 02/03/2021 16:48

I'm down to nine after a recent clearout 😳

Ninkanink · 02/03/2021 16:48

At the moment, one.

I plan to get one more - an indigo pair for the smarter side of my casual wardrobe.

However I purged a LOT of stuff a couple of years ago and maintain a strictly curated capsule wardrobe, and since I’ve determined that a) I don’t find jeans all that comfortable and b) I don’t particularly want to wear them much anymore, this suits my lifestyle well. I don’t think you have too many, and since you’re buying a new shape I say go for it if you’ll get the use out of them.

I do have several pairs of jeggings, and will be supplementing my wardrobe with a few more sometime soon.

firstimemamma · 02/03/2021 16:51

I own one pair of jeans and they are second-hand.

Laila747 · 02/03/2021 16:51

I just counted and I have 18 pairs....Blush

I do live in jeans most of winter but even I’m aware that’s slightly excessive.

I also have 41 pairs of heels, 22 boots and 13 pairs of flip flops....

And ONE bra that I actually like...Grin

I can so relate to this! 😆

Knittedfairies · 02/03/2021 16:56

Do I count those that don't fit?

Ninkanink · 02/03/2021 16:59

I’ve got rid of at least 15, probably more like 20 coats/jackets over the past 2 years, including 8 leather jackets. I mourn them all 😭😭😭 and would definitely have kept them if I’d had any realistic chance of getting down the extra size to fit them...

Never mind.

Also only have about 30 pairs of shoes and 3 pairs of boots now! But will definitely keep adding a new pair here and there.

Don’t get me started on bags! The true love of my life. 🥰🥰

Goingferalonfurlough · 02/03/2021 16:59

About 50/60. Some my teen now wears, some I’ll never get into again but I can’t seem to part with.

Goingferalonfurlough · 02/03/2021 16:59

But I probably wear about 8/10 pairs on rotation

Usernameisgone · 02/03/2021 17:02

2 pairs.
I mainly wear leggings 🤣

onlyconnect · 02/03/2021 17:15

Ninkanink bags are my true love too!

I just bought 2 pairs of mom jeans yesterday.
I have 1 other non skinny blue pair.
All my other jeans are skinny - 1 grey, 1 khaki, 1 black coated, 1 black, 1 black ripped, 1 white ripped, and about 3 other blue pairs. I have got rid of loads to the clothing bank.
I used to live in jeans, but prefer leggings, dresses or skirts and tights now.

Yellow85 · 02/03/2021 17:31

I reckon about 20 pairs, but in all honestly I wear the same 4/5 pairs all the time. So definitely overdue a clear out!! All skinny’s - various blues and couple of black, 1 leather look jean, 2 mom jean and straight cut pair.

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 02/03/2021 17:33

Jeans fit to wear anywhere vaguely civilised? (I'm talking Sainsburys, not a yacht in Monaco) 5

Jeans to be worn for gardening/dog walking/housework? - at least another 5 - they get worn till they actually fall apart.

Robintakeover · 02/03/2021 17:34

I have 4 blue , one black and 4 coloured pairs ... I favour one blue pair which I wash and wear most of the winter and then replace with the same make ... most of the others are years old

BrowncoatWaffles · 02/03/2021 17:39

Six pairs here. All mostly dark blue, boot cut and mid to high rise.

Despite the fact they're all notionally identical I still have my favourite two pairs which get worn more than all the rest.

ThisIsClare · 02/03/2021 17:42

I have over 20 pairs of jeans and around 15 pairs of treggings. But I also have over 200 pairs of shoes, mostly with high heels. And around 20 pairs of boots and 50+ handbags. Ask me what percentage of the above I actually use... :-(

ElMacchiato · 02/03/2021 17:46

2 pairs of blue jeans,
1 pair of black jeans, jeggings , not lasted well.
1 pair of green jeans

Loopyloututu2 · 02/03/2021 17:47

Far too many - about 30! I probably only wear about 4 pairs of them though. I hate chucking jeans away in case they come back in fashion or I change sizes - they’re everything from a size 8-14 and I’ve got all colours and cropped/ripped ones/high rise/low rise etc.
Apparently skinny jeans (of which about 80% of them are) are now “out” so I may have to get rid of most of them soon and buy a pair of dreaded “mom” jeans Grin

DarcyJack · 02/03/2021 17:51

Zero. One pair of jean lookalike leggings. Plan never to wear jeans again or indeed any garment that isn't either loungewear or a loose dress.

goose1964 · 02/03/2021 17:55

None, I can never find a pair to fit my waist

Kitkat151 · 02/03/2021 17:56

6 pairs
