Help!! What do I wear with navy!!!

My partner has bought me lots of nice navy work tops (and a nice pair of navy ankle boots) mostly from next but I'm struggling with what to wear them with on my bottom half.
I'm used to wearing black tights/leggings/trousers and I understand that navy and black shouldn't be worn together.
I don't think I can just wear navy on my bottom half too - that would be a bit much, so what do I wear with them?!?
Most of the tops are looser in style/floaty, except one which looks like a stripy shirt under a navy jumper which is a closer fit.

I'm also pregnant at the moment so some ideas that would work for maternity wear would be nice too....

Navy tops with black bottoms is fine. Navy is very versatile and goes with loads of colours. I choose it over black as black next to my face washes me out.

I wear navy a lot. Usually tan or mink coloured boots with trousers. I have navy tights, coloured tights or skin toned tights. I have navy tights. If plain navy a statement necklace is nice. Lots of different colours go with navy (red, brighter greens jade or aqua, pinks, purple, tan, yellow, cream, white, turquoise, lilac, multi colours).

All of my basics are navy so I wear it with everything. Orange and bright pink are my favourites. Basically use it as black.

I wear it with:

• lighter blues (sky blue or mid-blue)
• pink
• lavendar or lilac
• amethyst
• berry
• jade green
• soft white
• grey

Navy is my go-to neutral.

Try grey trousers.

Of course you can wear navy and black together, it's the most chic of combinations (and far more than navy and tan/brown which can look a bit naff and dated).

Navy is the main colour I wear, and I predominantly pair it with black, white, grey, red and pretty much the whole spectrum of blues.

On my feet, presently, it's mostly white converse. In more usual times, I wear white, silver or gold shoes with navy, I am not a fan of black shoes full stop and do not own any. However, black shoes look fine with navy, and better than brown.

I love navy and wear it with almost anything. It really is a neutral. So try navy and...

Tan (particularly fab with a tan leather bag)

One of my favourite smart outfits is a navy silk top and black skirt, always feels very chic. Worn with black tights and shoes.

And a go-to office "can't think what to wear" one is a navy funnel-neck jumper and tapered trousers with white trainers; as a PP said it's a softer version of the all-black look.

I normally wear black boots but might wear navy boots if I had any

Also I have two or three tops which are navy and black so that blows that rule out of the water anyway.

Navy and camel (only way I can tolerate wearing any shade of brown!).

Honest it is soooo versatile!

I like it with that sand/camel/stone palette. Plus white and coral.

I have exactly the same problem - quite a few gorgeous navy blouses and shirts without anything to wear with them.

I will be looking for grey trousers. I am a fan of white jeans so that will work for me, and of course blue jeans. I know navy and black are acceptable together now but for me it’s all a bit dark (I’m brunette). Camel or stone would work.

I wear navy tops with dark red, camel or grey trousers, or (white/pale/mid blue) jeans at home.There are millions of options for grey work trousers around so you should be fine there.

Thank you for all the replies. I'm going to try to be brave and try some suggestions.

I think I've just lived in black for so long that it's just become a bit of a habit.
I really love all these tops that are hanging in my wardrobe and desperate to get some use out of them so I'll see what I can get!
