Anyone know one please? I know eBay but that can be a bit pricey... :D I've literally just spent £12 on a sample that I'm not even keen on!!

Thanks!

No experience myself but Depop might have sellers with those, especially after beauty advent calendars.

Purpleblondelady · 07/01/2021 23:22

Feel unique have a sample service, I think it's £3.95 for 5 samples.

I've recently discovered Zara perfumes (they do some Jo Malone ones too, although I've not tried them) they do Discovery sets and small versions if you want to try and have a general idea of which ingredients you do and don't like.

The Perfume Society Discovery boxes are the best. They provide about 9 or 10 samples and often a few treats like hand cream or shower gel. I'm a perfume blogger and I swear by them.

MissBattleaxe · 07/01/2021 23:26

Also try Fragrance Samples UK.

Purpleblondelady · 07/01/2021 23:29

Ooh @MissBattleaxe are you allowed to share your blog on here?

I've been very tempted by The Perfume Society discovery boxes.

jackstini · 07/01/2021 23:52

Perfume society looks fab!
Ordered one for me & DH - thanks @MissBattleaxe

mynewusernameisthis · 08/01/2021 06:26

@purpleblondelady what do you think of them? I was going to order the discovery set last night but currently out of stock.

I like things like - JM peony and blush suede, l'occitane arlesienne (which I've literally just noticed is discontinued!!!) And I like floral street electric rhubarb

Thanks all for the websites I'll have a good look. I've used the feel unique before but currently out of stock. Did a few more eBays last night, I know which samples I want to try, paid about £3 each which I'm happy with :)

@MissBattleaxe thank you I've been looking at that now, is it a subscription or do you just buy the boxes you like the look of?

I've just ordered two boxes from that website - they look good!

Purpleblondelady · 08/01/2021 12:54

Feel unique stopped doing samples for a bit during the first lockdown took but they did bring them back for a bit. I they'll they'll bring them after the Christmas/sales rush or after this lockdown.

Zara do 6 different sample sets, I had 2 of them and I've just had 2 more sets delivered today Blush I really like Twlight Mauve, rose and White (although I'm wondering if they've stopped doing White) I also got a full size of Rose today, some Selfie one (I don't like the name but I was intrigued by the in it almond) and Black. I just going to smell 1 per day so that I can properly decide which ones I like and it gives me a little something to look forward to each day Blush So out of my new ones I've only tried the sample of Deep Garden, I didn't expect to like it and I though it sounded quite heavy but I really like it.

Apart from Twlight Mauve I didn't like any of the others from the Weekend Discovery collection.

I'm trying to stop buying clothes for a while, I need to make sure I don't swop clothes buying for a perfume addiction!

Purpleblondelady · 08/01/2021 17:03

I've changed my mind, I don't Deep Garden now!

Purpleblondelady · 08/01/2021 17:04

Like!

Purpleblondelady · 08/01/2021 21:15

Sorry that made no sense. I don't like Deep Garden now. I think it's Tuberose that I really don't like, it's quite strong and smells quite old fashioned.

Let us know what you think of The Perfume Society set.

teta · 08/01/2021 21:32

Facebook Fragrance sale/swop site is a good one. You can often pick up cost priced samples/decants/bottles and it's addictive searching! Also Bloom is good for ordering samples online , as is Nose France.
I do also love the Perfume Society boxes too. They're such a treat .

MissBattleaxe · 09/01/2021 15:27

@Purpleblondelady ooh yes, I am! Thanks for the plug. I'm a Mumsnet blogger so it's OK. Hopefully this article will help;

Does anyone know where you can just get samples of normal perfumes like Dior/Armani/YSL etc, as opposed to the really expensive ones like Tom Ford? I want to try before I splash out on a whole bottle and can't find much on eBay and what is there is very expensive.

mynewusernameisthis · 09/01/2021 16:08

Thank you all this is a great list

@DK123 which perfumes are you after specifically? I managed to find a few of the ones I was interested in on eBay at a much better price in the end (around £3 a go) search for the perfume then click order by price lowest to highest + p&p

@missbattleaxe thanks looks like a great site I'm going to have a good look now. Would you fancy recommending me a perfume too? Grin

The Perfume Discovery looks great but as a perfume novice, how do I know which box to select? I like masculine smells rather than floral eg Tom Ford. I'm concerned I will end up with a box of samples I will dislike?

MissBattleaxe · 09/01/2021 17:49

@DK123 Tom Ford are quite hard to get hold of but try www.fragrancesamplesuk.com/collections . You can see all the brands they do on this page and it's a good mix of mainstream (JPG, Prada, Ralph Lauren) and niche (Serge Lutens, Tauer, MFK). The guy who runs it advertises on my site and is a good bloke.

MissBattleaxe · 09/01/2021 17:52

@Thismustbelove if you end up with samples you don't like, come on here and offer a swap! Some brands give you a gift code to the value of your samples so you can use it against a full bottle or something from their website. Gallivant is one and Le Jardin Retrouvé is another, off the top of my head. There are more but I'd have to look them up.

In other words £25 for a Discovery set and a voucher for £25.

MissBattleaxe · 09/01/2021 17:52

@mynewusernameisthis of course! What do you usually like? Is there something you miss?
