Where do teenager girls shop these days then?

I feel so old asking this... when I was a teenager 19 years ago Topshop was THE shop so it does seem strange to see it's current state.

When I was a teenager nearly all teenage girls shopped there despite it being massively overpriced....Just wondered where they all shop now?

Boohoo, nasty gal, miss pap etc online
Zara on the high street? H&M maybe? Idk i’m old too

Karcheer · 01/12/2020 11:39

I don't know, but a FB friend put she wasn't surprised as her teenage daughter wouldnt be seen dead in there... I guess it's seen as the place parents used to buy their clothes from.

LaundromatLinda · 01/12/2020 11:40

When my dd was a teen she shopped at H&M, Zara and Urban Outfitters, she still shops in the last two and also orders from Brandy Melville.

I'm in a market town , not a big city- and am a secondary school teacher- it's Primark all the way here and the occasional H&M Agree with Boohoo and PLT for the older ones

Comefromaway · 01/12/2020 12:05

Yes, occasional H & M I'd agree with and maybe New Look.

Comefromaway · 01/12/2020 12:06

I should have said

Primark for the 15 year old

Pretty Little Thing for the 18 year old and when she was 14/15 she shopped at New Look.

HundredMilesAnHour · 01/12/2020 12:11

Urban Outfitters.

I was in Westfield pre-lockdown with a friend and her teenage daughter and we "had" to go to "Urban" according to the teen.

[My friend and I wandered around inside looking at tiny dresses muttering "who the hell fits in that, it's tiny?!" It seems we really have turned into our mothers]

Prestel · 01/12/2020 12:11

@LaundromatLinda I was recently introduced to Brandy Melville by a teen who absolutely couldn't believe I'd never heard of it. Seems a bit preppy American college girl to me & didn't have any tops she wanted in the end. She had to settle for a couple of sensible, middle aged tops from Top Shop in the end Grin

I don't get it either - it just reminds me of stuff I used to buy from New Look and Bay Trading Co circa 1997! Which I yhink is possibly the point. But still!
Karcheer · 01/12/2020 12:48

@ballroompink oh there's some irony there... so they won't shop in TopShop because their mums used to go their... but they want to dress like their mums from the 1990s... umm...

namechangegamee · 01/12/2020 12:48

topshop is still a big thing according to my DD, so I’m surprised at what’s going on

peaceanddove · 01/12/2020 13:07

I have teen daughters. They shop in Urban Outfitters and Zara (if I'm buying). They also shop on Depop. Vintage Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren sweatshirts are very popular, too.
