If you are 5'3 how much do you weigh?

NorthGirl2 · 26/10/2020 18:33

And what size are you?

I weigh 9 stone 4lbs after losing 22lbs. My clothes are size 10 but they feel looser now.

I've seen some comments on this board that above 9 stone is chubby for someone of my height. I am still trying to lose weight so I want an idea of a goal weight to aim for.

OP posts:
peachpearplum01 · 26/10/2020 18:59

I’m 5’4 and my post lockdown weight is 10’7 ish which feels too big (and is borderline overweight). A year or so ago I was about 9’6 and felt slim with a flat stomach. I’m quite pear shaped though and always have fat thighs and big hips. Any less than 9’6 ish and I’d have to seriously restrict my food but also my boobs shrink to a non existent state and my face and collar bone area look too think. I feel 9’7 ish is the middle ground where I can live with my chubby thighs, my stomach is flattish and my boobs aren’t too small! A tricky balance....

peachpearplum01 · 26/10/2020 18:59

Although I hate the post lockdown chub I like having fuller boobs again and my face looks better!

ItWorriesMeThisKindofThing · 26/10/2020 19:00

9s 4 is a happy weight for me though I was delighted when I got to 8st 8. Am much more than that at the moment but I hope I will see under 11st again soon!

Starlight39 · 26/10/2020 19:02

I'm 5'3" and before getting pregnant, i was around 8 stone 3 to 5. I was size 8. I have quite a small build though. I think it totally depends on your overall build and shape. A friend who is also 5'3" would look too thin at 9.5 stone. If you feel you could do with losing more, maybe go for 9 stone and reassess?

StripeyandConfused · 26/10/2020 19:07

I'm 5 ft 3 and weigh 9 stone 10lb size 10 clothes. Does that make me a big or small frame? I'd prefer to be closer to 9stone

maddiemookins16mum · 26/10/2020 19:07

Too much.

JMAngel1 · 26/10/2020 19:08

5ft 3 8 stone.
Usually size 8 but in vanity sizing shops I'm a 6.

TheDogsMother · 26/10/2020 19:12

5ft 3, 8 stone 4. 8 stone 1 or 2 is my ideal. I am small framed but short in the body so I get a spare tyre very easily. Size 8 - 10 according to brand.

Cluckycluck · 26/10/2020 19:12

I'm 5ft2, 9st2and wear a size 8. I'm not squeezing myself into an 8 and could comfortably gain without going up a size. I do exercise daily so a chunk of that will be muscle weight.
I'd be lighter if I was smaller in the bust. I wear a 28G so a large chunk of my weight is my boobs.

I do find it fascinating that people can be the same height, same weight and wear completely different clothes sizes.

anniversarywoes · 26/10/2020 19:32

I'm 5ft 3 and weigh 8st 11. I'm regularly told I'm skinny and although I don't necessarily see it, I wear a lot of children's clothes so I'm obviously not exactly big!
I think people carry weight in such different ways, people always think I'm 7st something, I think I must just look thin but really I'm not!

Iamaamazing · 26/10/2020 20:05

5'4, 63kg..on here thats chubby.
In real life, my ribs show and my shoulders and collar bone pop up, I have well defined cheek bones..but I do have a lot muscle as I work out 6 days a week. If I didn't have the muscle I would be far too thin.

AnaViaSalamanca · 26/10/2020 20:23

Interesting about sizes. I am 10st 4 and size 10 (athletic with muscular legs and bum). My waist is 27in so bottom sometimes 8. Happy weight is 9st but at that weight I would be a comfortable size 6 somehow.

Quite weird!!

Faerysmoke · 26/10/2020 20:28

7 stone but I am east asian.

Gwenhwyfar · 26/10/2020 20:29

About 53k and a size 10. As a 12-13 year old I was the same weight and height but a size 12.

For me I feel chubby at 9st, but as we're the same clothes size OP, I presume you've just got the weight distributed differently. I've noticed before on MN that loads of women are the same size as me on much higher weights. I presume they're hourglass with big boobs whereas I'm a rectangle.

What are your measurements OP?

Chicchicchicchiclana · 26/10/2020 20:35

Remember Bridget Jones? 5'4" and always battling to get below 9 stone. Such a bloody cliche!

If you are happy to forego the food you like and devote yourself to lots of exercise then go for it op.

The people who don't might be "chubby" but they are probably more relaxed and have interests in life other than an extra inch of fat around a thigh or whatever.

Ilovecheese53 · 26/10/2020 20:41

Definitely not chubby OP. You have done so well. I agree with another poster size 10 is a very ideal size.

Darklane · 26/10/2020 20:46

It’s fascinating what different sized clothes people take!
I’m 5’1”, ten stone & am desperately trying to lose a stone but it’s hard after the menopause. I’ve lost half a stone already but took two months.
I’m size 14 clothes but sometimes need 16 tops as big boobs, 36GG.
In my twenties I weighed seven & a half stone. I have very small hands & size 4 shoes, used to be 3 but my feet seem to have grown since my forties!

minnie465 · 26/10/2020 20:51

I'm 5 foot 3 (and a half) and weigh 9 stone 5. Size 8-10. I'm quite fit and active though. I have curvy bum and boobs but my arms and legs are slim. Tummy is flat. Feels about right for me.

If I go any less than 9 stone I start to look a bit too thin. I don't know why. It just seems to come off my face and chest and my collar bones protrude too much.

googlepoodle · 26/10/2020 20:57

I'm 5ft 3 and usually around 8stone, although goes up a few pounds in the winter. I don't look too skinny, but would look overweight at say 9 stone.

Haworthia · 26/10/2020 20:58

I hover around 9 stone 2 and I’m certainly not chubby. I’m a pear shape and have plenty of stubborn thigh/arse fat, but chubby I am not.

GlassOfPimms · 26/10/2020 22:15

5'3 and now 9 stone which is the most I've been in years. Lockdown and increased amounts of running has definitely changed my body shape recently. I feel well but look much bigger especially my tummy and thighs. Last year's winter clothes are really tight!

For me it's all about restricting calories and carbs. Anything over 1500 calories a day and I put on weight very quickly. I'm eating proper lunches working at home rather than just a small lunch while rushing around in the office. So much harder to lose weight now than it used to be!

funtimefrank · 26/10/2020 22:19

Currently about 12 stone and feel grim. I am a large 14/small 16. I have never been not overweight - I was 10 1/2 stone from 16 til mid 20s, put on loads of weight in my late 20s and got to 14 stone. Lost and regained more til I was over 15 stone in my 30s - baby loss, fertility treatment and pregnancy then pnd took it's toll. Lost 4 1/2 stone when I was 40 and got back down to between 10 and 10 1/2 stone for a couple of years then it's crept up over the last 18 months.

biggest I have been was a 20 and smallest a 12. I'm an hour glass/pear so always had a smaller waist and huge thighs.

Tbh I'd be happy to settle around 11 stone. Yes it's a stone overweight but if I can maintain without depriving myself then if I eat well and am active then I figure that's better than trying to get to a weight I've never managed. However, have a buggered thyroid so weightloss super hard.

I did once get to 9 1/2 stone but I had norovirus.......

HasaDigaEebowai · 26/10/2020 22:27

Age makes a difference. I’m a size 8-10. I’ve been a size 8-10 for my entire life but until I had children I was under 8 stone. I’m now 47 and nine stone and people say I’m slim. I have an hourglass body shape with quite big boobs hence needing a 10 on top so that fabric isn’t stretched.

Gigia · 26/10/2020 22:33

I'm 5ft 4 and 53kg, I wear a size 6-8. I lift heavy weights though and have quite a lot of muscle.

YellowBeryl1 · 26/10/2020 22:54

I am 5 foot 3 and 13 stone! I am gradually losing weight baby weight from years ago Grin but fit comfortably in size 14/16 clothes and am generally quite muscly and in proportion. I would like to be about 11 stone, anything less wouldn't suit me (and my muscles are just naturally there, I exercise quite a bit).
