HELP! What do I wear to my wedding on Friday?

Please help!

I’m getting married on Friday, I didn’t get a proper wedding dress but the dress I had has a hole in! Not sure how it happened 😫 I swear it wasn’t there when I tried it on but it must have been. It’s not fixable and not the end of the world I suppose!

I have dresses I can wear but they either look a bit mutton esque or like I’m going on a night out.

Thankfully I live near a lot of cities so I’m not short on places to go but I am on a high street budget!

I’m blonde with a fairish skin tone, 5”10 and a size 18 so places like H&M, Zara & Mango are a no go.

What style should I go for? What colour? What fabrics? I’m so clueless at dressing! I’ve just had a baby and I live in loungewear or jeans and a T-shirt 🙈

Congratulations! I am not great at picking clothes, but please make sure you look like the bride. Even if there are only a few ppl there, you need to be the centre of it.

My brother got married and his wife wore a lovely evening dress in bright purple, really gorgeous, so you don't have to do white. But just be stunning! What was the dress like you had planned?

can you do to a place like John Lewis where they have often a great shopping assistance?

I recently needed some clothing and went to a few shops (including JL) and none would let me try on the clothes. So you will probably have to take them home and try on there. So get going sooner rather than later.

Can I just say I love your fairly casual attitude. fwiw, I eloped and got married in jeans and a top - but I was young carefree, compfy (and short of cash).

or do you have something in your wardrobe you could style up given that trying on clothes may be an issue on the high street?

I reckon monsoon is the go- lots of beautiful dresses and they have a good variety depending on how wedding-y and how strappy you want. I know several people who have married in them and looked fab

With short time i would suggest you go to a shop you are happy with and see what they have in. You need to be comfortable, so you can be happy in what you are wearing. My dress was £40 and cream with pink flowers. Definitely not a wedding dress but I liked it. (From Roman original - you can order a few from them on next day delivery and return any you don't like). But I topped it with a cream fascinator and a cream bolero jacket (which cost more than everything else together but.....made it clear I was the bride.)

I have started to think I might just wear jeans and T-shirt and hope it looks “fun” 😂

I was wearing a jewel green wrap dress from phase eight.

I’m starting to think to get an actual wedding dress from places suggested above. I thought it would be silly for just a ceremony but seeing as they’re aren’t too expensive it might be ok.
