Good quality warm jumpers, not too pricey?

I’m looking to buy some new warm jumpers this year, ideally in natural materials . Where do people recommend for these? Usual high street shops I shop in (H&M, Asos) mainly not natural and not very warm!

Willing to spend a bit more but not 100s on each jumper (looking at you, Toast!) - any ideas would be very welcome Smile

Uniqlo, Woolovers.

Have you tried Ebay? I got a couple of M&S cashmere jumpers last year which were brand new with tags, for under £50.

MaryLennoxsScowl · 27/09/2020 18:10

Nearly New Cashmere - second hand but washed and depilled and mended if needed. I got two jumpers, one was £38 and one was £42. Not amazingly fashionable but really nice.

justawoman · 27/09/2020 18:13

Uniqlo does merino and cashmere.

Batshittery · 27/09/2020 18:14

Seasalt has some nice ones priced per £50 - £65. I was looking at them online today. There were a few complaints about pilling but they say that stops after a few wears.

AnaViaSalamanca · 27/09/2020 19:14

I would go for merino not cashmere if you want something cheaper. Banana republic has some great ones. I am not too much into uniqlo but people like it.

Bluewavescrashing · 27/09/2020 19:15

Woolovers merino. Hard-wearing, super soft, natural so not sweaty.

Seasalt and white stuff knits look nice but go bobbly really quickly.

Miseryisabutterfly · 27/09/2020 20:03

& other stories always have great knitwear in their sale, I think it’s starting this week.

HermioneWeasley · 27/09/2020 20:05

Uniqlo, their merino wool is excellent

SpeckledyHen · 27/09/2020 20:06

Another Uniqlo vote here .

nitgel · 27/09/2020 20:10

In winter I live in uniqlo merino jumpers with their heatech tops underneath

Ditheringdooley · 27/09/2020 20:10

Uniqlo jumpers are v thin. May or may not suit you.

I bought one (merino) last year and it bobbled like crazy and within a couple of wears looked rubbish. So don’t think they are longlasting.

The more expensive uniqlo ones I can’t comment on.

Following w interest!

Joules. Love their jumpers.

I am about to buy a woolover jumper. They look good quality and value. And lots of colours.

PenOrPencil · 27/09/2020 21:29

Woolovers are great, just bought some more jumpers for dh. I wish I could wear wool! Sad

dudsville · 27/09/2020 21:32

I got mine this year from arket and brora from their sales sections.

I have a seasalt one that does bobble but I bought one of those shaves. I love the jumper now.

shinynewapple2020 · 27/09/2020 22:39

I have recently bought a chunky cotton sweater from People Tree , obviously we are not in very cold weather at the moment but it feels nice and cosy

For pure wool, merino and cashmere , have a look at Celtic & Co, a lot of it is made in UK and ethically sourced .

chunkyrun · 27/09/2020 22:40

I love cashmere but my budget doesn't. So I buy second hand from eBay/depop/vinted

yolio · 27/09/2020 22:46

It's a personal thing, I know but I cannot stand jumpers or anything I have to pull over my head if I get too hot. Just me I know that.

I much prefer a cosy fleece with full zip and a body warmer on top if I need it. Easy to take off both where necessary.

Doesn't meet the Natural Materials criteria of OP, but AFAIK fleeces and some bodywarmers are made from recycled materials and dry in no time at all after washing, unlike the natural materials.

Cuddling57 · 27/09/2020 22:53

Has anyone got cashmere or merino scarf and gloves?

LunaTheCat · 28/09/2020 00:47

I bough a cashmere from Brora in their clearance section. I think they have separate website for clearance - just google Brora Clearance. They had lots merino.

MaverickDanger · 28/09/2020 08:48

H&M but their conscious collection and &Other Stories

SpeckledyHen · 28/09/2020 09:32
