Uniqlo

Why didn’t I know about this store?
I have heard mention on here about their jumpers but I didn’t think it was really my style. Went to a huge one in Manchester yesterday and bought some fab pull on wide leg trousers that look really smart but are as comfy as trackies. My trendy 15 year old DD also bought a pair in another colour. I bought a black long sleeved tshirt dress as well and a pull on bra that contains my 36 DDs but looks nice and is comfy. All this for under £50. Brilliant
I’m a 48 year old size 16 add thought it was for younger waifs. Can’t wait to go back

I love Uniqlo. I like the fact that they don't have loads of logos or frilly bits. Everything washes nicely and the range of colours is great. Their sales are great too.

TawnyPippit · 21/09/2020 08:44

Love it - it’s my go to place for basics. You do have to do some sifting though - there are some real shockers. But when they get things right, they get them very right.

It’s v good for teen boys as well, I’m always recommending it on here. It saved us when DS was at that awkward age and size of having grown out of children’s stuff and not ready for adult stuff or directional fashion stuff. They just do basics really well.

TheWoodsareDarkandDeep · 21/09/2020 08:50

Their wool is excellent

HermioneWeasley · 21/09/2020 08:51

Ooo, can you link to the trousers?

I think they’re great - agree with PP saying that it’s clean and functional.

AuntieMarys · 21/09/2020 08:53

Love Uniqlo. Manchester my nearest one now but an hours drive away. I have lots of their padded coats and jackets , cotton tops and fleeces. Good for long arms.

That's good to know. We all have long arms, and DH in particular, struggles to get anything with long enough sleeves. H & M is his go to shop just now.

Bought some lovely items, great quality and my only advice is check the reviews and individual sizing of items, as it can vary enormously. Husband is also very impressed with the T-Shirts and Jumpers.

TheHoneyFactory · 21/09/2020 15:20

love love love uniqlo! we dont have a store in our nearest city (think they only in melb, syd and bris in Aus) so have to buy online. i spend alot of time reading the reviews (esp womens clothing) sussing out fits/sizing cause it can be all over the place/ style dependant.
its my go to for every family member now. i love their down jackets (perfect for Aus winters), linen/cotton shirts & dresses (s16 very large in chest so their oversized looks actually fit nicely if i pick carefully/size down). i buy all DH tshirts, merino & waffle tops from there.
Agree totally with PP who said its fab for tween age kids who have grown from kids sizes but not yet into proper teen styles....

Its a brilliant store!

Hoppinggreen · 21/09/2020 15:25

Will take 11 year old man sized DS when we next go
Dd said we should dress Dad in stuff from here
Can’t link to the trousers, sorry but they are high waisted wide fit straight leg brushed trousers in women’s if that helps

Also the cashmere woolly hats are perfect.

2andahalfpints · 21/09/2020 18:42

I saw a recommendation on here last week for their leggings as an alternative to trousers or jeans so I ordered a few pairs - I am in love and have never been so comfortable! Glad to hear they will wear well too 😊

fiorentina · 21/09/2020 19:31

They are great. They did used to have more stores but now just have a few, I find their online service reliable if their website a bit rubbish.
Great quality clothes, love their basics.

ladykuga · 21/09/2020 19:49

Their ultra stretch legging trousers are amazing. They go with anything and hold their shape exceptionally well.

VinylDetective · 21/09/2020 20:00

Their down body warmers and jackets are fantastic.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 21/09/2020 20:20

If anyone can find the trousers online I'd be so grateful for a link, please!

curlytops21 · 21/09/2020 20:38

I absolutely love Uniqlo too and buy loads from there. Top favourite repeat items are ladies t shirts and light merino wool jumpers - in all the colours 😍. Ooh and also their beauty light bra with no underwire. Since i started buying these bras about a year or so ago i literally don't think I've worn one with an underwire since. And the shape is fabulous.

However, i currently have the rage as i keep getting invites to take part in their sampling programme where you can request one free item per month, but you have to take your voucher to a store to collect your item.

I live in Scotland and for some godforsaken reason we have no Uniqlo store here so i can't get the free items they keep offering me. I would be happy to pay for delivery on a free item but that's not even an option.

Just makes me rant as i spend so much money with them but can't get any rewards 😬

Mummyonline · 21/09/2020 20:47

I think these could be the trousers

I really like uniqlo for basics but I wish they did a tall range or made tops slightly longer.

These trousers?

ScribblingMilly · 21/09/2020 21:02

@Wrongkindofface, I'm 6ft and just bought a man's long-sleeved T-shirt in olive - looks perfect, not masculine, so am going to try more of their men's range. Have also found in the past that Uniqlo U women's trousers are longer than the main range.

Hoppinggreen · 21/09/2020 21:14

mummyonline has found the trousers I bought!

Thanks. I’ll take a look at them.

@Mummyonline thank you!

HermioneWeasley · 24/09/2020 20:38

The trousers have arrived - great recommendation

Hoppinggreen · 24/09/2020 20:44

I’m glad
