I can't buy off the peg. Each bra has a different fit. It is a bloody nuisance.

MrsBadger · 01/10/2007 21:05

if you are a d or bigger, go to bravissimo

tortoise · 01/10/2007 21:11

No im a C she thinks! No bravissimo near me afaik.

I also can't wear m&s. Every few years I try again and always come away dissappointed, they always seem to come up too far into my armpits.

I go to debenhams or john lewis, but that's no good if you can't get to one. does any one do free returns?

BeenleighOfTheDead · 01/10/2007 22:10

I had same problem last year but went to Rigby and Peller at the weekend, and had a fab fitting. What size did they say you were? What size did you used to wear? and in what way did the bras not fit you? Do underwires did in to breast tissue under your arms?

pooka · 01/10/2007 22:12

I can't wear M&S either. USed to be given, after measuring, about 38B. Am now, having had a proper fitting, 32d/dd. Makes a huge difference having bras that fit properly.

tortoise · 01/10/2007 22:22

She measured me as 36 or 34(Between sizes!) C. I was about 38/40D but have lost weight and that size was when BF too.
I can't even buy online because i have no card i can use.
Most didn't fit very well in the cup. Felt lie it was gaping at the top. but smaller cup too small! Wire was in good position and strap was fine. Tried padded and non-padded but none fitted quite right.

tortoise that is just rubbish service, the measuring sounds shoddy and she should have known which styles would fit you best. have you maybe got a small independent shop near you? they are the absolute best (although carol of whitechapel did me wrong).

Skribble · 01/10/2007 22:28

Try a little independent store often hidden away down side streets, prices might surprise you, they often have basic stuff as well as the fancier stuff.

Thanks. I will look into that. I expected to be about 36. 34s wouldn't do up!

brimfull · 01/10/2007 22:41

the old way that I think M&S still use of measuring and adding 5 inches is bollocks.
I would take a measurement of your chest under your boobs and start there. If you measure 35" then a 36 should be fine.

tortoise · 01/10/2007 22:42

None of them are anywhere near me! i will have a good read up tomorrow. Must get to bed now.
Thanks for help/advice.

tortoise · 01/10/2007 22:43

ggirl All she did was measure under bust. I don't think she added anything to the measurement.

OP posts:
brimfull · 01/10/2007 22:47

brimfull · 01/10/2007 22:49
