What's your go to pinky nude nail colour?

Looking for something quite neutral and understated for every day to make me feel a bit more put together but everything I've tried so far is too nude so I look like I have corpse hands, or too pink so it's more of a brighter baby pink.
Any suggestions? Something that doesn't chip easily would also be amazing!

I like Essie spaghetti strap, a very pale pink.
Peterbishopssarcasticsmile · 09/07/2020 11:41
How do you find the Essie polishes splish are they quite hard wearing?

I really like Mavala velvet. It just looks polished and it's very forgiving if you're not an expert at applying nail varnish!

I like Dior Nail Glow for the tiniest hint of something

Apparently The Queen likes Essie - The ballet slippers/shoes one!
StCharlotte · 09/07/2020 15:02
I've just done a manicure using these. The Maybelline one is called Rose Poudre. I've been using it as my "neutral" for years and with the base and top coat it lasts a good week or so.

Getting the perfect pinky nude for my nails is a seemingly endless mission.
I love that one that @StCharlotte has posted, looks exactly like I want.
I’m very cool toned and have learnt through many errors that most colours described as nude make my hands look dirty
Still looking. Still buying. And now I’ve switched to gel (DIY) it’s even harder/more expensive mistakes
Please keep the suggestions coming folks, and tell us what your skintone is as well

I like the essie ballet one I find it really hard wearing, and that's speaking as someone who usually has gel nails but I've been using the essie during lockdown

@StCharlotte
I was just going to say this one too!
Plus, if it chips - u can hardly tell

I'm whichever tone has green veins - cool I think? - if that helps.

With green veins you are an olive probably.
Do u tan easily?
SingleHandSue · 09/07/2020 18:26
Rimmel Caramel Cupcake is one I got recently and really like.
StCharlotte · 09/07/2020 18:26
I'm actually fair skinned but I do tan, although I wouldn't say "easily". I'd say I was a classic "English rose". Hands are quite tanned at the moment so the nail varnish doesn't stand out as much as normal.

I've tried all the Essie nudes and find Sugar Daddy the best for me, I also love maybelline
Rose Poudre.
I'm very pale with pink undertones
MoveOnTheCards · 09/07/2020 19:14
I’m with @chartreuse and go with Essie Sugar Daddy every time.
Peterbishopssarcasticsmile · 09/07/2020 20:47
Googling all these shades
I'm fair and I get red skin definitely have red/pink undertones and my hands also go a bit purply when cold so finding the perfect nude is HARD
MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 09/07/2020 21:33
I find ballet slippers a bit too white. Same with Rimmel English Rose - although the bottle itself is the perfect shade.
Am following with interest - am also on the lookout for this.
BeBraveAndBeKind · 09/07/2020 21:48
Maybelline Porcelain is nice. It's also slightly iridescent so looks different when you move your hands. I like Rose Poudre as already mentioned and they have another in the same range that's something like nude rose (I can't find the bottle now to check). They all wear really well.
Estellelauder · 09/07/2020 22:02
I coat of miracle cure as a base coat then 2 coats of Sally Hansen “Shell We Dance” with a slick of Sech Vite over the top. All dry really quickly. Job done and nails haven’t looked so healthy in years.
JMAngel1 · 09/07/2020 22:22
Maybelline Rose Poudree is the only colour I buy anymore.
