what earrings are you wearing this season - curated ears?

i am almost 40 and love the subtle and delicate look, like Maria Tash styles or Vic Beckham.

there are so many instagram hastags for "curated ears" and "ear party" etc but i feel they are too trendy or too expensive see above Monica Vinader is still too expensive!

what are normal stylish people wearing for every day looks for work, school run etc?

Are you wearing "fine jewellery" or fashion jewellery?

Need a bit of detail as i tend to wear very simple shirts and jeans.

i know it only matters what i like but some inspo for modern classic wearable multiple pierced lobes would be great.

I have two pairs of these "gold" ball earrings. They were about a fiver from Boots maybe ten years ago. This pair is ovbiously unwearable now. The other pair is better but I don't think they're long for this world either. I've worn them on off for years. I love them and I've been searching for a pair in real gold for years to no avail.

I alternate them with a sapphire and diamond pair which are exactly the same as my Victorian engagement ring - even though there's a century between them.

Having said that, these are arriving today for a bit of fun.

I love earrings. Smile

In terms of "real" jewellery, I have two pairs of sapphire studs that I love and wear often. One set was my grandma's and is in gold, the other was given to my by her for my 30th and is white gold. I have a gold and opal studs (which were also my grandma's) that I wear occasionally, and small diamond studs I wear less often than that. I also have a pair of silver Tiffany studs in a sort of abstract heart shape which get worn a lot as they're a good "basic" earring.

My longer earrings tend to be the cheaper ones. I have a pair of silver lilies which I love, and a gold pair with green stones which came from Oliver Bonas. Oh, and two pairs from my children - silver dangly ones with moonstones in them from my DD, and tiny silver stegosauruses from my DS (I actually love these!)

I am hankering after a pair of these for my birthday:

Aren't they? Tbh that company has so many lovely ones I'm going to struggle to chose which ones I want!
evilharpy · 06/07/2020 14:29

I've never seen anything quite like those tile earrings. They're so unusual and pretty.

WutheringTights · 06/07/2020 16:55

I have these, and another paid in gold with a green stone. I wear them most days, also a pair of tiny white gold diamond studs.

I really want these in gold from Alex Monroe.

So what exavtly are curated ears ( for I am ancient and untrendy)

Are they multi-pierced?

I have a 2+1 lobe

Mainly wear studs + a tiny 2mm in the 2nd piercing .
I was wearing a gold hoop in the 2nd (actually a nose ring !) which was about less than 9mm diameter , so a faff to put in /take out )

PerditaNitt · 06/07/2020 17:47

If you’re trying to do the curated look/Maria Tash thing but don’t want to spend too much, accessorize is worth a try for multipacks in different shapes to see how they would look in different combos. Worth spending more for their sterling silver range which are pretty good quality.

I have a pair of cz sterling silver triangles similar to these from accessorize and they look spot on for work uk.accessorize.com/view/product/uk_catalog/acc_2/8815589100.

Curated ears is a term like a red lip or a metallic brogue rather than the plural. silly fashion speak in my view!! However, in answer to your question op, i have a few piercings in each ear and wear a lot from missoma, often the fake diamond kind, as i find they are pretty and twinkly. somehow i find multiple earrings without stones can look a bit too grungy for me
PastramiNoRye · 06/07/2020 18:47

Laura Bond has some lovely earrings sold individually. Not as pricey as Maria Tash but still well-made.

I'd definitely try Claudia Bradby for a very modern take on pearls, and lots of options for "layering"

https://www.claudiabradby.com/

I have three in one ear and two in the other Smile

BeNiceToYourSister · 06/07/2020 21:34

Etsy is great for inexpensive gold Tash-esque studs and little hoops. Also agree about Accessorize and their multipack studs. I quite like that look too atm though I can’t bring myself to use the term “curated ear”

BernardBlackMissesLangCleg · 06/07/2020 21:45

although i wouldn't be seen dead in fat face clothing, i find their earrings strangely good, and often pick up nice studs from there

the bags can be worth a look too

tattybyetattyhead · 06/07/2020 21:51

I wear a pair of Tiffany 18ct gold Elsa peretti open hearts. Plain and simple.

I'd be careful wearing those old Boots earrings btw - they don't look like they'd be very good for your ears (to a previous poster)

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 06/07/2020 21:51

I had no idea what a curated ear was when I came in here - still not quite sure tbh. I just wanted to talk about earrings.

flatoutpanic · 06/07/2020 21:58

Astley Clarke
Astrid and Miyu
Rachel Jackson
And my new favourite, V by Laura Vann

Probably all similar pricewise to Monica Vinader, but occasional sales and discounts are the times to swoop!

Si1ver · 06/07/2020 22:06

I wear a pair of sapphire studs my husband gave me mainly, but I also love a statement earring.

Currently rotating a gorgeous pair from the Bead Pot (a lovely lady who makes jewelry out of silver cutlery) a pair of vortex silver ones from not on the high street and an expensive Georg Jensen pair I treated myself to when I got a new job.

doolallyboo · 06/07/2020 22:09

Apparently I have a "curated ear"

3 lobe & 1 helix. It's bloody expensive!

I love Otiumberg

doolallyboo · 06/07/2020 22:09

missoma too
