what earrings are you wearing this season - curated ears?

i am almost 40 and love the subtle and delicate look, like Maria Tash styles or Vic Beckham.

there are so many instagram hastags for "curated ears" and "ear party" etc but i feel they are too trendy or too expensive see above Monica Vinader is still too expensive!

what are normal stylish people wearing for every day looks for work, school run etc?

Are you wearing "fine jewellery" or fashion jewellery?

Need a bit of detail as i tend to wear very simple shirts and jeans.

I have a few different styles of gold hoops (small) and some huggies in turquoise and rainbow quartz. They were from Missoma/Astrid/Otiumberg.

Biancadelrioisback · 06/07/2020 22:21

I have 6 in one ear (rook, tragus, 2x cartilage and 2x lobe) and 5 in the other (scaffolding plus 3 in lobe) and tbh, I just rarely ever change my earrings.
I buy packs from Amazon in sterling silver or surgical steel and just replace as and when one falls out or starts hurting or whatever. I never wear pairs unless big statement chandelier types.
I don't 'plan' any of it, I buy what works for me in each hole. Eg I don't like studs up top, prefer cuff style or hoops.

Try Silver by Mail or Pia Jewellery for more high street prices, but you would have to put together a look yourself

onwheels · 07/07/2020 17:09

thanks, i've looked at astrid and miyu but will make an accessorize order.

curated ear is a bit silly! i meant small elegant understated multiple ear piercings for a little bit of sophistication every day

@frizznfizz

I'm in love! I've sent the link to my sister, who will hopefully take the hint and buy me them for my birthday.
Sadik · 07/07/2020 17:52

I love those tile earrings, they're gorgeous :)

My favourite earrings mainly come from here - I always drop heavy hints to family before Christmas, but I'm very tempted to treat myself to a new pair this summer too.

dementedma · 07/07/2020 18:05

I have over 70 pairs of earrings! Almost all are cheap and cheerful, many made from glass. No diamonds or pearls unfortunately. My most expensive are my Sheila Fleet pair. I have loads of different shapes and colours, and several amber and silver pairs.

SaigonSaigon · 07/07/2020 18:22

I'm not working right now so am not spending much at all on clothes and shoes so have been asking for nice earrings for birthday and Xmas from the likes of Missoma and Astrid & Miyu. I have a few pairs of Monica Vinader too which I wear to death. Nice earrings make me feel a bit more made up in the absence of new threads! Like the look of some of those from Fat Face though

StripyHorse · 07/07/2020 22:20

Scream Pretty do lovely hoops and studs at a fraction of the price of Maria Tash.

I did splash out a while ago and buy some decent jewellery - still expensive but not Maria Tash levels. I have these www.serenityjewellery.co.uk/industrial-strength-titanium-screw-in-gem-flower-145.html in my first lobe piercings with blue / white gems in my other piercings.

Neometal and anatometal are also excellent but expensive too.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 07/07/2020 22:27

I have quite a lot of peircings so stick to very delicate tiny hoops and ting silver studs.

TooMinty · 07/07/2020 22:40

Oh, we are supposed to call it a "curated ear"? I call it my metal ear because I have 3 lobe piercings and 2 helix. I like Astrid and Miyu, I also have some tiny silver brontosaurus earrings which I think are from Not on the High Street.

Shambolical1 · 07/07/2020 23:34

Another vote for Scream Pretty.

Also try Seol+ Gold (they do just as much silver).

Daisy London have some nice designs too.

GrimDamnFanjo · 08/07/2020 01:36

I tend to wear diamond studs in my lobes - one piercing each lobe.
Left ear: fake diamond on the top part of the ear - the flat bit through the cartilage.
Conch - inside the ear - two rose gold earrings - one a lotus flower, the other a smaller opal stud.
Right ear : front helix - rose gold pave stud. Helix x 2 - another rose gold pave and a rose gold feather which curls up the outside of my ear.
All by BVLA.

StripyHorse · 08/07/2020 11:31

This is what I currently have (remembered I had a photo sent when I ordered them), plus a plain cubic zirconia in my forward helix.

Recently discovered Leila Swift Jewellery via a friend on insta - lots of lovely eatings that aren’t too try-hard. When I’m not quite so skint I’ll definitely be buying.

onwheels · 08/07/2020 16:26

some more wonderful shops to try.

Accessorize for every day - also love Oliver Bonas and Last True Angel.
It’s worth looking at museum shops which often have lovely earrings - ie V&A, Tate Gallery, Royal Collection Trust, and the Design Museum. Prices vary, but designs are often unusual - good for special presents!

itchyfinger · 08/07/2020 17:21

Orelia do amazing pre-curated sets, and they're an absolute bargain (roughly £25 for 3 earrings, gold plated, swarovski Crystals etc).

They also do loads of ear cuffs so you can look like you have more piercings than you actually do.

itchyfinger · 08/07/2020 17:22

www.orelia.co.uk

Here they are, the sets are called Ear Party

Ellapaella · 08/07/2020 17:30

Some lovely earrings on this site https://louyetu.fr/en/shop/tous-les-bijoux/earrings.html

NecklessMumster · 08/07/2020 17:47

I've just got 2 in one lobe and 1 in other..I like asymmetric, silver and sleepable. I used to have odd studs and one hoop with three dangly bits on but it eventually broke. I can't find an equivalent anywhere. Do I just buy hoop charm things?

foxtiger · 08/07/2020 20:54

My defaults are very small silver hoops - I think they're called "beaded" - which doesn't mean they've got actual beads on them but they're made up of little silver balls/blobs. Other favourites are the small teardrop-shaped garnet drops that used to belong to my mum, drops with black and white spotty beads, and sometimes for special occasions a pair of vintage sparkly drops.

Redact · 08/07/2020 21:01

I love ear-rings. I have a couple of silver Siren sets from Monica Vinader, plain studs from Tiffany in silver, black and pearl. I've a lot of cheap and cheerful ones but my absolute favourites are my ear-rings from Catherine Zoraida.

Ifonlyiweretaller · 09/07/2020 11:58

I love my Shaun Leane Hook earrings.
shaunleane.com/products/silver-hook-earrings-size-1

I have them in small, medium and large although I've only once worn 2 pairs together...

Pliudev · 09/07/2020 17:52

Greebols! I had no intention of buying some earrings today but the Moroccan tile ones on the Etsy site you mentioned are lovely. I wonder if your post has brought them lots of sales? I know I couldn't resist.
