since last years winter coat was a size 16, and i am now a size 10 i need a new coat.
so how come i cant find any in the shops anywhere?
i bought this coat from marks, looked gorgeous, but its got no lining. how is that going to keep me warm? looked at a few others there, an none of them seemed to have any linings either.
next had none in the shop i went to. nothing in the catalogue inspired me.
topshop nothing either except what looked like school uniform coats.
any suggestions and ideas please.

No idea, but well done on getting down to a size 10!
How did you do it!

Perhaps wait a while? May be they just aren't stocking a full range yet?

wildpatch · 27/09/2007 11:17

yes, but i'm freezing meanwhile lizzy!
i did it on the atkins diet. but basically, i was just in the right frame of mind to do it.

The Per Una fake fur trimmed padded jacket on the same website looks warm.

I got a lovely warm one from Warehouse last year.

nailpolish · 27/09/2007 11:18

they are probably all sold out
French connection and oasis have some warm coats

wildpatch · 27/09/2007 11:19

the moon, this looked warm too. its made of wool etc, but, just wasnt lined. and without the lining, wind goes straight through. you need the double layer for warmth.
i do like the look of the fake fur though.
also, going to look at warehouse website now.

Oops...not sure how I managed to post that twice

themoon66 · 27/09/2007 11:21

I suppose if you are buying on line it's difficult to see what you are getting. You need a whole day of browsing in RL around the shops.

online i can pay on dh's credit card. buying in rl i have to get the money off him later which is a nightmare. i'd rather freeze all winter.

here

nailpolish · 27/09/2007 11:25

the warehouse on is cotton, if you are looking for warm wouldnt you rather have wool ?

EmsMum · 27/09/2007 11:25

Do people still wear coats? Maybe its a town/country split... in the sticks you either drive or walk properly in goretex jacket.

I haven't worn a long coat since a wintertime wedding over 10 years ago!

I know thats not helpful, but maybe there isn't quite the demand there used to be?

nailpolish · 27/09/2007 11:28

omg i wouldnt be seen dead in gortex
!!!

oasis have a couple f wool coats

wildpatch · 27/09/2007 11:29

thanks np.
the belted look doesnt do anythign for me. i like the fifties one, but not sure its long enough.
ems, i need a warm coat because i like walking sometinges, and even driving you still have to have someting to keep you warm in the cold car.
what goretex stuff do you mean?

wildpatch · 27/09/2007 11:42

I bought a very nice one in Hobbs last year - sounds like you deserve a treat for losing all that weight!

fishie · 27/09/2007 11:44
