Nesti Dante soaps - what's your favourite?

ViveLEntenteCordiale · 28/06/2020 01:25

I've seen these recommended on soap threads and want to try them - have now found out where to buy online to get free delivery to France, whoop whoop! (Ok, I am overexcited about soap...)

What are your favourites? Am tempted by lavender and verbena - I like them separately but don't know if they go together? And fig and almond - more almondy or figgy? What else is good? I like citrus and fruity scents, open to others but not so keen on in-your-face florals (apart from lavender). I need one for hand washing and one for the shower... and probably some spares! I wish I could smell them all! Thank you soap connaisseurs!

I like the gold one best.

Get the smaller bars, is my best tip. The big ones are massive and last forever and I get really bored waiting for a new smell!

PS Tomato is nice, but it’s the scent of the fruit and not the leaves, which is a shame.

DameXanaduBramble · 28/06/2020 07:37

I think they’re a bit overrated. But look nice in my bathroom.

I'm glad it's not just me that thinks this!

Definitely get a set of the 6 smaller bars.

InstantMango · 28/06/2020 07:43

Noooo!
Get the big bars!
The wait and then unwrapping one of those huge, perfect bars is the best bit.

RickOShay · 28/06/2020 08:24

Could you please say where you can get them online?
I agree with the smaller bar option Smile

FairNotFair · 28/06/2020 08:40

I love the fig and almond - it's rather more figgy than almondy.

wherethewavesarehighest · 28/06/2020 08:44

I didn't know they did small bars, I'll have a look for them. I've been cutting a big one into 3 bits and then alternating scents.

WingBingo · 28/06/2020 08:49

@RickOShay amazon sell them.

I love them too, lavender and verbena is my favourite too.

pearlypidge · 28/06/2020 09:41

I usually buy mine from escentual, when they have an offer on.

I think look fantastic might sell them too.

RickOShay · 28/06/2020 09:42

@WingBingo
Thank you. There are several sets of smaller bars, so difficult decision time Grin

Lamentations · 28/06/2020 09:43

I like the monastery one, it smells like church incense.

ViveLEntenteCordiale · 28/06/2020 12:52

Thanks so much for all the replies - looks like a yes for both lavender and fig!

@RickOShay they are online at lookfantastic.com, you get free delivery if you spend a smallish amount, not sure what it is for the UK. They are probably available in lots of other places too, but I need European delivery.

I looked at the sets but they didn't give a lot of clues about the scents!

Tomato sounds interesting - shame it's not very leafy. Tomato leaves smell amazing!

I do like a big bar Grin have been using the 250g ones from L'Occitane, which are lovely but I feel like a change.

Roma

NannyR · 28/06/2020 12:57

My favourites are villages and monasteries, coconut and frangipane and fig and almond, all three are quite different but really lovely fragrances.

SageMist · 28/06/2020 12:59

I like the citrusy ones, and don't like the floral ones. Each to there own. Get the big bars and cut them in half, that's a perfect size imho.

XingMing · 28/06/2020 13:18

We have been using the large cypress bars, cut in half, for years now. I must consider buying some of the others too, just for a change. We were much less keen on the floral scents, so maybe the lavender and monasteries.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 28/06/2020 15:49

I'm using the " Thermal waters" at the moment

WrinklesShminkles · 28/06/2020 16:16

The six pack of smaller single scented ones, which includes cypress, lavender and my favourite, poppy, I think is a good starter pack. They make nice little gifts if you find you don't like a particular scent.

Appuskidu · 28/06/2020 16:19

The Fig and Almond one is divine!

I have the coconut one now for a change, but it’s not a patch on the Fig and I’m desperate for it to get used up!

wildthingsinthenight · 28/06/2020 16:50

I love the thermal waters hand soap

beakyboo10 · 28/06/2020 16:56

I purchased 3 of these from Amazon after reading about them on here. Currently using the fig and almond milk which smells amazing, also have the Capri (orange, mandarin and basil) and the frangipane and coconut.

Ended up buying new soap dishes as they are massive so might try and cut them in half when I open a new one.

Appuskidu · 28/06/2020 17:12

Can anyone recommend a soap dish that fits the big ones in?!

beakyboo10 · 28/06/2020 17:23

I got some silicone rubber soap draining mats from Amazon, not the most stylish of things for your bathroom but they do fit the soap on and so far the toddler hasn't destroyed them.
