WWW's ten year younger boot camp, Sept 2007

Hello! This is week three/four of the EIGHTH WWW 10year younger boot camp of 2007 (as we carried on for 2 weeks on the last thread)

Anyone can join, we promise it works and you will feel and look better - and maybe younger - if you follow these rules.

This is about being healthy and feeling and looking better as a result. It's not a diet (although weight loss does seem to occur fairly frequently)

THE RULES ARE:

  • Sunscreen at all times, even thought it's Sept
  • No or little booze in the week. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can. Many of us have an Omron pedometer
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream/foot cream too, we recommend Flexitol, which is fantastic stuff
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

It's POURING down outside as I write which makes me want to curl up in bed with hot crumpets, butter and a good book but onwards!

Have a happy birthday batters - I want to know what kind of a restaurant serves peanut butter cheesecake .

I have been ok, but not great, and feel much better for cutting down drastically on drinking (and knowing I can indulge a wee bit tonight - in fact soon!).

I have developed a serious tic-tac habit though - they help me face the idiots that commute in their cars. Could be worse though I guess....

Have not been going to bed early enough and still haven't resolved exercise in the week yet. Am eating a little too much nutella and Fry's chocolate cream but also lots of fruit - my skin is better although when I get a spot now it's a real humdinger.

Weekends are always more challenging aren't they....

moonshine - well done on the drink.

batters - that sounds like a lovely weekend. (Though am not sure about peanut butter cheesecake).

My cold is worse. I've only done around 5,000 steps today as mostly I've been hugging the aga and drinking honey and lemon. DD1 and DD3 were both home, coughing and spluttering and wanting playdoh and glue and colouring and stickers and on and on and on. And it rained and rained.

I am hoping for a brighter weekend!

Oh yes, and Happy Birthday Batters

unknownrebelbang · 28/09/2007 21:44

Have a lovely birthday Batters.

Champagne and crisps sounds devine, not so sure about the cheesecake...

Sunscreen - tick
No booze - tick
Walking - 30 mins on the exercise bike instead.
Water - tick
Not so much body cream, but I do lavish cream on my hands.
Early night tonight, I'm still shattered and have a headache.
Eat healthily - soso. Plenty of fruit.
Be happy - yes - it's Friday!

bamamama · 29/09/2007 03:46

Batters - happy birthday, peanut butter cheesecake sounds wonderful!
unknownrebel - glad the situation for ds has resolved itself.
DoNB - hope you and family are feeling better. An aga is the perfect thing to have when feeling rubbish!
Bootcamping going well here. Dh has been struck down with some sort of gastric flu and has been in bed for 2 days. Means I haven't eaten any huge meals and not much in the way of wine.
Enjoy your weekend everyone!

happy birthday batters

I am catching up again with you all. I have been a bit so-so with bootcamp efforts. But I have continued to swim 3 or 4 times a week, though I have waved goodbye to the outdoor delights of the lido till next summer. I have also upped the number of lengths I swim, so I really do feel tired and stretched afterwards. (This helps massively with the 10.30 bedtime aim, too!).

Just sitting drinking a sugery tea, but have cut out sugar from my drinks at work (mainly because I have been too lazy to buy another packet).
