Can someone please explain the different laser hair reduction treatments - very confused!

I have moved to Singapore and my ingrown hairs have doubled or even tripled. They get big and nasty and then take weeks to heal as its tropical here. I have decided to go the for laser hair removal as I can't even wear shorts in this heat because of my scabby legs .

Problem is I have moles on my legs and have had a skin cancer removed from one of my calves so am a bit scared about that as well. Can anyone help me as there seems to be alot of different laser machines and I want to pick the right one as its sooo expensive. Have seen a dermatologist who does laser hair removal but want to hear peoples experience. I have really pale skin and quite dark hairs so I should be a good candidate but need some reassurance!

yes Quokka and I'm sooooooooo when you tell me you drank champagne all night!

Pfffffffff 5am and DS came crying in our room. He woke up becauuse of the storm and now the bloody neighbour has chinese music full volume from the radio............

I'm stupidely too well mannered to go sort them out in the middle of the night but tomorrow I am putting a poster in the hall to complain and shame them!

Egypt · 27/09/2007 01:36

and

at your neighbours. go for it! poor ds and just when he was loving his new room. i hope it doesn't put him off. i cannot believe neither of mine woke!

slim22 · 27/09/2007 01:42

Nice........a good night's sleep!

DS shattered this am because of night waking. I think he forgot the zebra in your car so we had a mini drama this am and did not want to get dressed blah blah blah
Anyway, he did go and smilling eventually but bottom line is we need the zebra. So if no swimming today, we'll do smthg else or I'll come pick it up.

Quokka, fancy doing smthg?

slim22 · 27/09/2007 01:43

went to see neighbour, and it can't be them. Very nice soft spoken middle aged indian lady......the music was chinese pop!

quokka · 27/09/2007 01:47

wow congrats slim - that was sooo quick hiw many weeks are you!

I could be convinced about going out, what were you thinking? I was going to make some playdoh if the rain doesn't stop.

slim22 · 27/09/2007 01:55

Anyway, was thinking the usual gogo/delta.......let me see if I can find smthg else...

yes kids are at school but she means this afternoon. swimming usually at 3 but with the rain prob not. dd is so so tired though. she really didnt want to go to school AGAIN!

sorry slim, didnt see the zebra but will get it to you for sure!

WOW! the snow place looks great - we havent the clothing though! could always do gogo. erm..what else? better go.....

time for VPL!

by the way, dd2 DID wake twice, 130 and 430 - just not when it was thundering! i didnt have THAT great a night's sleep ! but not bad considering. she slept without the dummy apart from the first falling asleep bit, then i pulled it out.

i cant believe we are all in the same city and are communicating through mumsnet!

Egypt · 27/09/2007 03:42

i have been zapped.

you know thinking about it. the hairs that did fall out last time have not grown back - in 4 weeks. that is actually unusual as when i wax they are back after a couple. i think it MIGHT be working!

quokka · 27/09/2007 03:58

I might give today a miss ds2 has gone to bed 2 hrs earlier than usual and they are evil today! Fighting, pushing, hitting, biting, whining, I do not wish people to see them like this!

OP posts:
Egypt · 27/09/2007 03:59

ok, but it might give you a break!

quokka · 27/09/2007 04:02

I think I may give these people a call. They do a intro offer and then I should be able to see how many sessions I need.

OP posts:
quokka · 27/09/2007 04:04

yes good idea maybe I'll go out solo . Will I need malaria tablets for Malaysia?
