Can someone please explain the different laser hair reduction treatments - very confused!

I have moved to Singapore and my ingrown hairs have doubled or even tripled. They get big and nasty and then take weeks to heal as its tropical here. I have decided to go the for laser hair removal as I can't even wear shorts in this heat because of my scabby legs .

Problem is I have moles on my legs and have had a skin cancer removed from one of my calves so am a bit scared about that as well. Can anyone help me as there seems to be alot of different laser machines and I want to pick the right one as its sooo expensive. Have seen a dermatologist who does laser hair removal but want to hear peoples experience. I have really pale skin and quite dark hairs so I should be a good candidate but need some reassurance!

the aussie school year starts in Jan so if we move back to the uk he will be a year behind everyone els . They say boys don't benefit from early schooling but don't want him feeling different from the other boys if we move bcak to the uk!

eeek thats a bugger. when is his bday? they are at nursery now which isn't compulsory. most children in the UK just do part time a few days a week up until reception when they start fulltime.

he'll be put in the same year to fit his agegroup in the uk so wont feel left out.

2010, that's shocking!!
But I don't understand what you mean by full time???
Is it everyday of the week or all day any given day?

quokka · 25/09/2007 03:23

well according to the aussie school he would start the new year in

Jan 2008 for 3-4 days from 8:45-2:45 in the preschool

Then he would do the same for 2009.

Then he would start 5 days a week 8:30-3pm in 2010. ie full time school.

Have just found a baby massage instructor course in Malaysia that starts on 8th Oct. I'm tempted to do it as I can't find any in Singapore and the next one in Perth is May 2008. Its done by the IAIM and is run by an Australian teacher, what do you think? Then I can can do baby massage by word of mouth while I very slowly complete my doula course!

that means ds2 will be only a year behind him in school

OP posts:
Egypt · 25/09/2007 03:52

but i dont understand how ds2 will be a year behind him? because his bday is at the beg of the year? he'll still be with his age group so dont worry.

fulltime is full days 5 days a week, yes.

move to the brit school!

do the course. excellent idea.

i've so chuffed with myself - just had an hour by the pool BY MYSELF !! this has never happened!

sorry - losing the point of the thread now - moondog? when you are awake do let us know more details.....

quokka · 25/09/2007 04:03

Egypt · 26/09/2007 05:39

Furball · 26/09/2007 07:35

did it work moondog? and how many treatments did you need also which part of the body did you have done? Sorry to ask all these questions but I seem to be morphing into my nickname.

thansk quokka - did read the thread so not sure how come I did't see monndogs previous posts.

quokka · 26/09/2007 11:27

furball the !!!! were for the fact that she's hair free after 2 sessions - not because you didn't see the posts. I'm not a mean mnetter I promise

OP posts:
Furball · 26/09/2007 11:45

I knew that quokka, don't think I thought you were being sarky. I just felt a bit silly for not reading it for myself. But yes amazing that she is hair free, how fab is that and after only 2 sessions. How do you know how many sessions you need I wonder?

quokka · 26/09/2007 12:07

well they usually say between 4-6 but they like you to buy a package of 6 at a discounted price. This is in Singapore so not sure what its like elsewhere?

Egypt if I do this massage course I will need a baby to practice on and get hands on experience to be become certified - can I use your dd2? I'm sure she will love it and I can pretend your a paying customer so you can learn as well !

OP posts:
slim22 · 26/09/2007 12:14

quokka!
Why the hell did I Pay for 6..........
Mind you, the bikini hair is still there so I guess will need them, but armpits, half gone.

quokka · 26/09/2007 12:19

can you get something else done maybe, did you ask if she'd transfer the cost of any remaining sessions? I
