What will happen to all the stock from Oasis and Warehouse?

I had a few items lined up to buy and was waiting for a sale before buying them and now they've disappeared! Do you reckon I'll be able to get these items? Will Outfit still have their stuff when they open again? Or does anyone know anything similar to these items?

I wouldn't be surprised if all their spring stock is destroyed. I remember reading Burberry incinerated £30m of unsold stock because if they give it away it ruins their brand. Here's hoping that's not the case!

Mammabear31 · 01/05/2020 15:37

Check ASOS, Next, perhaps Very. They still have alot of Warehouse and oasis stock online. Smile

GameSetMatch · 01/05/2020 15:59

They I’ll go to one of those old clothes stock wearhouses such as ‘steals’ it will be hard to predict where and when though.

Wehttam · 01/05/2020 16:02

TKMaxx in their cheap Mod Box section. It’s where the unsellable MANGO, ZARA and TOPSHOP stuff goes.

RingtheBells · 01/05/2020 16:46

The first skater dress is at Next so the others might be

BovaryX · 01/05/2020 16:48

It will end up in a landfill somewhere I imagine.

lubeybooby · 01/05/2020 16:49

everything5pounds will probably buy it. Has several oasis things from them before

Bluewavescrashing · 01/05/2020 16:49

Everything Five Pounds sells some detagged high street stuff. I've also seen some in charity shops and on ebay.

toucancancan · 01/05/2020 16:54

I've noticed a few Oasis things available on Tu Sainburys. Also Asda have the odd floral dress gem: direct.asda.com/george/clothing/10,default,sc.html?q=black%20floral

HeadOfTheCongaLine · 01/05/2020 17:30

John Lewis have 30% off

ginghamstarfish · 01/05/2020 17:42

In this day and age it really should not be acceptable for any company to actually destroy clothes - why not sell them to resellers, send them to poorer countries etc. I would think more of a brand which did this, not less.

Littlemiss74 · 01/05/2020 18:58

@HeadOfTheCongaLine is it 30%? Just looked but could only see 20%

catanddogmake6 · 01/05/2020 19:04

The administrators are under a duty to maximise money for creditors so if they can sell stock they will. There is unlikely to be a “brand” to protect and that can be minimised anyway by just cutting labels out and selling to the companies mentioned above.

Cecilia2016 · 01/05/2020 19:17

I do love oasis and warehouse clothes. I checked on Debenhams website and it’s no longer there

lifeisgoodmostofthetime · 01/05/2020 19:33

They sell them on in bulk and deface the labels

TeaChocKitKat · 01/05/2020 19:38

It's such a shame. I'm still gutted they couldn't be saved

Incrediblytired · 01/05/2020 19:40

I’m gutted. I get all my clothes from these two shops.

HoundOfTheBasketballs · 01/05/2020 20:09

@ginghamstarfish
I used to work for a major international lingerie brand. Anything they couldn't sell through their own in-store summer and winter sales was burned.
Nothing was sent to outlets or anything. I asked why the perfectly wearable and unused items couldn't be sent to charities or women's refuges. I was told it "damaged the brand."
Glad I don't work for them anymore tbh.

Wehttam · 01/05/2020 21:46

It’s a shame they are going but then again their business model was very outdated and (please don’t jump on me) very ‘Mumsy’. The likes of BooHoo, Primark and Zara have thrashed many of these old fashioned concepts. No longer fashionable enough so no one buys from them hence why they’re in administration. Very sad for those losing jobs though.

JessicaDay · 01/05/2020 22:27

The company that owns Homebase have bought the stock and the brand names but not the stores/concessions.

So I’d guess they plan to sell the stock online?

SophieGiroux · 02/05/2020 14:51

I felt like they bridged a gap between the cheap disposable fashion like boohoo, Primark etc and high end stuff where a dress costs £80+
I do think they were getting expensive though which is why I held off buying at full price - £65 for a dress when a similar one in New Look would be max £30. I will have to have a root around the websites where they have a concession. Checked John Lewis but couldn't see any of the ones I wanted unfortunately Sad

They've got a lot on the John Lewis website if you just search for 'Oasis'

Nads78 · 29/05/2020 09:09

@sophiegiroux, the Warehouse yellow floral shirred cuff dress is available on Next website in size 10, 12 and 16 if any good :)

Puppylucky · 29/05/2020 14:24

They also come up a lot in the Stitch Fix boxes
