If you have ginger hair would you wear pink !?

I have ginger hair - more orange than dark red tone .
I tend to wear black , black , black , grey and some green.
I like black .(rock/biker life)
But I’ve seen a lovely pink fluffy cardigan in next and I have never worn pink in my life.
Would it clash with my hair colour ?

Yeah think Nicola Sturgeon.....she always wears pink....looks horrendous

StormCiara · 29/04/2020 17:26

Redhead here. I’ve really embraced pink in the last few years following a general revelation that I am not in fact an ‘autumn’ but actually a ‘summer’. I look fecking terrible in khaki, sludge and rust, and much better in clear mid blues and clear, warm tones generally. I avoid beigey/greyish pinks, and pinks with a lot of blue in, but clean and slightly peachy pinks work really well here.

fauconberg · 29/04/2020 17:26

Yes absolutely!

Neilsfavouritechilli · 29/04/2020 17:29

I'm similar to @stormciara spent a lifetime looking like an army reject but have found I really suit bright bold colours. I'm a darker redhead but can pull off a bright pink without people screaming at me in the street.

WeAreTheWeirdosMister · 29/04/2020 17:32

Yes!

@ Neilsfavouritechilli an army reject !
I’ve made those mistakes too!

Green! My ginger friend looks awesome in green

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 29/04/2020 17:33

Oh yes, definitely. Think Molly Ringwald in Pretty in Pink Smile

Tiramisuiloveyou · 29/04/2020 17:33

Bright corally pink would probably look fab on you. Avoid pale baby pink though that looked awful on me when i had dyed red/auburn hair.

Neilsfavouritechilli · 29/04/2020 17:34

Also, show me this cardigan please!

PatchworkElmer · 29/04/2020 17:34

Of course you can- it’s just about finding the right shade to suit your skin tone and hair colour, I think.

Fidgety31 · 29/04/2020 17:34

@ WeAreTheWeirdosMister.
My hair is probably a similar colour and length to that in the picture

Dd is ginger, everyone comments on how pink really is 'her colour'. Go for it.

EngagedAgain · 29/04/2020 17:35

I don't know, but based on what I've learnt about clothes, colour or style, it either looks right on or it don't. So called rules go out the window. Thing is though, the first image that came into my head was Grayson Perry, sorry!
However, that's irrelevant. Presume you're buying online? Either way, why not get it and see how it looks.

Fidgety31 · 29/04/2020 17:35

I don’t know how to post a link but it’s a Lipsy cardigan for sale in Next .

Personally? No, but I certainly don't think that means you shouldn't!
Wear whatever makes you feel good.
Go on, treat yourselfyourself Smile

ShoesJerry · 29/04/2020 17:37

I'm a red head, and the right pink looks fine on me. A coral kind of colour works well, but pastels look terrible.

I also don't wear black but stick to navy and khaki and dark purple as my neutral colours. I find that black, white and grey don't suit me well at all.

TheCanterburyWhales · 29/04/2020 17:39

Molly Ringwald looked awful in that frock. it was the frock not the hair but still.

TableNiner · 29/04/2020 17:48

Angela Scanlon wears quite a bit of pink and looks great.

SomethingAboutNothing · 29/04/2020 18:07

Another redhead here. Coral, yes! Baby/light pink, ok. Bright fuchsia not so much, personally. As someone else said, I suit pretty much all green shades, and browns/camel/beige suit me too. I think there is quite a variety in colouring of redheads though so it is an individual thing. If you like it, go for it!

Mandoshathair · 29/04/2020 18:17

Mine is more on the auburn side, I don't wear pink unless it's PJs or loungewear. Earthy colours definately suit me better.

Purrmuda · 29/04/2020 18:47

Im ginger and get the most compliments when I have pink on. I have the same colouring as the picture from @WeAreTheWeirdosMister, perhaps a little more pale. Pink brings me alive and makes me look a lot younger.

OhLaLlol · 29/04/2020 19:04

Yes - was just about to suggest a warmer coral pink rather than a cool toned, blue-based pink. The right shade of pink will definitely look right.

EngagedAgain · 29/04/2020 20:30

@Fidgety31
Sorry about what I said earlier, wasn't meant to offend, so please don't take it too seriously.

merryhouse · 29/04/2020 21:03

I'm ginger (well, actually cinnamon... I once stuck the end in the spice pot to check) and I wear pink, though not very often. (When I move away from green and purple I prefer russets and oranges.)

My sister has exactly the same colour hair but a slightly higher complexion, and doesn't wear red or pink.
