Lob it off or no?

Hairdressers are opening soon where I live.

Throughout confinement (it's been quite a while here), I dreamed of chopping off my longer hair into a lob. I think it will be about 5 inches off. I'm quite shy and conservative about my appearance (don't like dramatic changes and really don't like attracting attention). Should I do it?

Has anyone else made the same change and liked or loathed it? Any advice?

Chochito I had to blow dry mine after every wash whereas with long hair I can just leave it to dry naturally if I want to and it looks fine.

It's cut! ShockShockBlushBlush

Chochito Amazing Grin Are you happy? Do you love it?

Duckingell · 05/05/2020 15:29

Ooh - how is it OP?

I'm on the other side of hair cutting - trying to grow out a VERY short crop.

Am so pleased I'm in isolation Grin

I got a pixie cut when I turned 30,had one ever since,I’m 40 in a month

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 05/05/2020 15:59

Yes, definitely Smile

Ihaveamind · 05/05/2020 16:05

I cut from longer then your first pic to just at my shoulders 18 months ago. I think it made me look much younger, although it is more work as I have very thick curly hair and have to try to tame it daily.

Chochito · 05/05/2020 16:47

I love it.

Very nice.

I think that is a great length. Just long enough to be versatile.

Perfect for summer

PenfoldsFive · 05/05/2020 16:56

It’s lovely!

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 05/05/2020 16:57

That looks lovely Smile

Chochito · 05/05/2020 17:34

Thanks, everyone, that's so kind. I think it's a bit long? I will go a bit shorter next time, maybe.

brassbrass · 05/05/2020 17:48

It's shorter than I imagined!!

Well done you! Glad you're loving it.

nzeire · 05/05/2020 18:14

happyjack12 · 05/05/2020 19:41

NC4Now · 05/05/2020 19:45

That’s gorgeous! Glad you’re pleased

Lily193 · 05/05/2020 20:17

Gorgeous! Great decision - you have lovely hair.

Chochito · 05/05/2020 23:04

Omg thank you everyone, you are so kind and warm and generous. This has made me feel so well, not because of the hair but because I've been alone in quarantine since 10th March (until today) only going out once a fortnight to the supermarket across the road. Thank you!

Sorry, me again. I'm due a trim next week. But wondering whether to try a little (I mean A LITTLE) more off. Will I freak out if I get it cut like this? Will it seem much shorter?

Lob it off or no?

love the cut, I think it would be fine to go shorter, it always grows back!

DubiousGoals · 28/05/2020 09:32

This is the length mine is now (well, until lockdown anyway!) I had it cut from below bra strap length first into a lob the went for the bob. I absolutely love it! Go for it!

Chochito · 28/05/2020 13:16

Thanks, everyone!

The first cut has grown out quickly. Not out of shape but it does seem noticeably longer.

However I am worried about freaking out if it is shorter. I was scared enough about going to this length.

I love it! I have a lob and get my hair about an inch or just less shorter than what I actually want it because otherwise it grows out really quick

A couple of products that have really helped me; volumising mousse- I chuck my head upside down with damp hair and put this in my roots then give a quick blow dry upside down before drying properly afterwards. Also, texturising spray, I use Charles Worthington which is more like a mist than a damp spray, spray onto sections of roots and massage with fingers, I like to do this late at night before bed and when I wake up this is when it looks the best!

I think it would look fab slightly shorter!

Chochito · 28/05/2020 13:42

Thanks optimisticpessimist01, I think you might be right about having it cut a bit shorter than I want.
