Do you still love, or now cringe, at your wedding dress?

Whilst trying to choose a wedding dress and being both depressed and amazed at the choices out there i got wondering..

How many people who love love loved their dream dress still love it and do any of you now look and cringe or really wish they'd chosen differently?

I wore my grandmother's wedding dress and I still love it, though can't fit it at the moment as I'm 35 weeks pregnant. I would say choose a classical design that suits you rather than something that's trendy as you're more likely to always like it in the future and not cringe at your wedding photos. Good luck with your wedding dress shopping!

kitsandbits · 13/09/2007 10:01

Love it - but havent got married in it yet

cookiesandcream · 13/09/2007 10:01

I just don't see the point in paying that much money for something you wear only once but love!

Dropdeadfred · 13/09/2007 10:03

still love it

expatinscotland · 13/09/2007 10:08

I love it! It's a pale pink Episode fitted shift dress. Very Jacky O. Wish I could still fit into it

Sheherazadethegoat · 13/09/2007 10:08

i wore a pretty sweater and skirt and looked like a 50's movie star, so yes.

Pacific · 13/09/2007 10:10

Still love mine. 15 years old but 4 sizes too small now . I designed and made it myself for £60.

However, hate, hate, hate the veil. I don't know why on earth I wore it....it looks ridiculous and I hate the symbolism associated with it .

Peachy · 13/09/2007 10:17

Mine wasn't a standard one, we did the big wedding but as I was 3 months post natal I chose a dark grey dress with Indian style navy embroidery and a matching coat (both full length, the dress had a gold sheen as you moved). I have worn it since to formal do's and it's really rather timelss and elegant so an excellent investment imo

KristinaM · 13/09/2007 10:21

i love mine...wish i still fitted it. its a very simple column dress in silk crepe, with a fishtail skirt, cut on the bias. beading around the neck

not that i woudl wish to wear it now..........just that i was not a lardy lump

Dropdeadfred · 13/09/2007 10:23

wow.. so far noone regrets their choice...

But so far nobody much has gone for a meringue item in a romantic flush!

LadyMacbeth · 13/09/2007 10:38

Still like it, it's very simple, long, straight and elegant. Can only just about squeeze into it now (was the width of a stick on my wedding day). However I sometimes wish I'd gone for something more opulant, dressy and 'princessy'.

I have however been asked to model for a bridal shop later this year and I really can't wait! I can swirl about and pretend to be a girly princess then. I clearly don't get out often enough...

Dropdeadfred · 13/09/2007 10:40

ooh LadyMacbeth that sounds like a laugh! You get to see if another style would have been just as good, but your choice sounded lovely

love it love it love it, wish i could wear it on other occasions but never will

belgo · 13/09/2007 10:42

still love mine. It's a red ballgown and I wore it again recently to a ball, very pleased I still fitted into it.

bobbiewickham · 13/09/2007 10:43

Love mine! It was ivory empire line, with a scooped neck, lace bodice and layers of diaphanous silk chiffon for the skirt. Very Pride and Prejudice. I would change my hair, make up, jewellery and tiara though. My wedding photos are looking increasingly naff

Dropdeadfred · 13/09/2007 10:45

wow..i think you should all upload pics..

LadyMacbeth · 13/09/2007 10:46

Thanks DDF . I'm looking forward to it in a stupidly excitable school-girl way.

TinyGang · 13/09/2007 10:48

I love mine. Well, for me then. If I was getting married again now, at this age, it wouldn't be right for me.

But it was gorgeous and I have no regrets at all

NineUnlikelyTales · 13/09/2007 10:59

Still love mine. It was 1930s so already somewhat unfashionable when I wore it.

tasja · 13/09/2007 11:01

still love my dress (got married 5 years ago)
