Do you still love, or now cringe, at your wedding dress?

Whilst trying to choose a wedding dress and being both depressed and amazed at the choices out there i got wondering..

How many people who love love loved their dream dress still love it and do any of you now look and cringe or really wish they'd chosen differently?

Mine was awful, but I had HG and frankly the fact that I managed to walk down the aisle at all without throwing up made everything else pale into insignificance.
The one I would have had if I hadn't been pregnant was lovely though [wistful]....

Sheherazadethegoat · 13/09/2007 15:48

lol @ maureenmlove as a drunken miss havissham on her anniversary every year.

MrsBadger · 13/09/2007 15:51

firefly, it was an organza coat over the satin dress - I just took the coat off

MaryAnnSingleton · 13/09/2007 17:29

yours is lovely mrs badger !

smurfgirl · 13/09/2007 17:31

I love it, but I only chose it 3 months ago, and have only seen it twice and am not married yet so I think I should still love it.

I think its a pretty classic style though, so hopefully I won;t be cringing??

my dress

smurfgirl · 13/09/2007 17:36

Oooh I def wanted a meringue style dress when I was shopping - I chose mine because it looked nice on and felt 'big' (not blinging traveller wedding big obv).

bossykate · 13/09/2007 17:40

this was mine still love it! not that i could get into mine now, lol!

DANCESwithTheMorningOff · 13/09/2007 17:41

Still love it but WISH I had done my hair differently, it look sh*t

suedonim · 13/09/2007 17:52

I still love mine, even though I'll have been wed 35yrs this November. My dress was plain satin with a fitted bodice with lace panel, and long sleeves. I wore a thin white sweater under it on account of it being a bit nippy-noodles in November!

Dropdeadfred · 13/09/2007 18:33

Nice dress smurfgirl..i am only 5ft 4 so envisage having to have whichever dress i pick hemmed up ...

love mine still, after 7 years

smurfgirl · 13/09/2007 18:57

dropdeadfred - i am 5'4" too - was not an issue when i looked

filthymindedbolshevixen · 13/09/2007 19:03

I adore mine. But if I was getting married now, I'd probably not wear it as it was 12 years ago and it is a medieval maid's dress, not a saggy old matron's dress....

(though I can I still fit into it [smug])

laura032004 · 13/09/2007 19:23

I still love mine If I'd have gotten married in the UK, I might have chosen a more fussy bridal one, but we got married in the carribean, so it had to be something light for the heat. I got to wear mine twice - for the actual wedding, and then the reception when we got back. Still fits

AuldAlliance · 13/09/2007 20:32

I wore trousers

Dropdeadfred · 13/09/2007 22:01

sorry yes you're right dances, I was envying bossykates dress..

i still like mine and its 10 years old this october. it had a vintage look about it which is why i chose it, looked great in the black & white photos

Dropdeadfred · 13/09/2007 22:11

This is quite encouraging really that noone (except maby shiney) really regrets their choice

bossykate · 14/09/2007 10:05

thank you >

boozle · 14/09/2007 10:06

Still love mine nearly 12 years on! It was a raw silk, Princessy affair with a tight bodice, full skirt with train, and long sleeves, although off the shoulder. I wore it with a very long veil, which I loved. I still have the dress bodice, but not the skirt. That was removed and made into my DD's christening gown last year.

jenk1 · 14/09/2007 10:08

yes i still love it, it is a classical style so shouldnt date.
