Just sat in my car waiting for the rain to stop and thinking how I basically look like an expensively dressed slob
Today I am in
Hush lightening bolt print joggers
Grey alpaca slouchy socks
Black fleece lined suede Birkenstock Boston clogs
Merino wool slouchy jumper tucked in
Massive oversized free people jersey quilted printed biker jacket
Olive Ganni wool hat (a drunk online purchase and I have zero regrets)
Oh and a massive teddy fleece tote bag in beige

My ensemble today is 'rustic gardener' Grin

Muddy jeans
Ancient jumper - also muddy
Equally ancient socks
Scarf
Walking boots - filthy
Massive bag containing gardening tools

And I am also currently sporting the 'nameless black stuff underneath the fingernails' look too (although I will lose that later in the bath).

justinhawkinsnavalfluff · 06/03/2020 14:21

Scruffy solicitor. Black m and s suit with a top from sainsburys. Can you tell I do legal aid Grin

SpecialistSubject · 06/03/2020 14:27

I’ve felt the need to name change for this ...

Raggedy. Distressed. Bit crunchy. Took decades to realise I want to look as if I’ve kidnapped my couture tweeds from the tailor several weeks before they’re actually finished. Combined with a shot of ‘falling into the coffee shop the morning after the ball, in my evening wear and some borrowed boots’.

Actually I achieved this look a few days ago - fabulous tweed coat, deliberately/expensively distressed camel hair jumper, £5.99 in the Zara sale silver skirt, vast, shiny black books. Felt utterly in my element for once. Usually there’s at least one element that has to be compromised on.

MaudesMum · 06/03/2020 14:28

I described my style on here once as "dishevelled lesbian". And what I'm wearing today perfectly encapsulates this:
Thin wool hoody under oversized jumper with zip down back
Slightly muddy jeans
beat-up timberlands
Messy shortish hair..

Mercurial123 · 06/03/2020 14:32

Minamalist. I live in a warm climate and my dresses are Issey Miyake Pleats Please bought second hand on EBay, culottes with fitted tshirts and straight jeans.

Honeybee85 · 06/03/2020 14:33

Busy SAHM with baby.

After I finally managed to take a shower and brush my teeth, put my hair into a neat bun, put on concealer, mascara, eyebrow pencil, blush and lipgloss. Wore straight dark blue jeans, a black tshirt and a long light blue GAP cardigan with my beloved brown chelsea boots.

userabcname · 06/03/2020 14:33

Whatever the opposite of a yummy mummy is (scummy mummy?).
M and S jeggings which stretch over my c section pouch
Nursing top from Asos
Mismatched christmas socks
Maternity jacket from JoJo (actually really nice but was given by a friend; I didn't actually buy it).

cheapskatemum · 06/03/2020 20:55

I love these! I’m at work at the moment (support worker for vulnerable teenagers), so I’m in dark grey Levi skinny jeans, black Reebok Classics, a pink & grey patterned long-sleeved t shirt and a zip up pale grey hoodie. No idea what to call this look.
When not at work, I try to wear skirts, although it’s been too cold recently. So something like an above the knee kilt with thick tights, a woolly polo neck jumper and biker boots. Again, can’t think of a name for it.

slipperyeel · 07/03/2020 10:27

Metropolitan bluestocking

Hush ruched skirt, black v neck jumper, black opaques, DM shoes, several necklaces and bracelets. Hair scraped back.
Bag full of books and papers.

slipperyeel · 07/03/2020 10:28

@Kenworthington your outfit sounds lovely and cosy

Zinnia · 07/03/2020 11:18

Ooh I love threads like this

@Kenworthington I really like the sound of your outfit!

Metropolitan bluestocking is genius @slipperyeel, totally want to appropriate that even though our styles are quite different

I always struggle to put my style into words - but it's smart-casual + simple shapes + colour. London with a heavy side order of Scandi. So yesterday I was wearing a navy COS short-sleeve boiler/jumpsuit over a Breton top with a green belt, gold chain necklace and trainers. Pink Uniqlo down jacket under a classic trench. It was my first-day-of-Spring outfit and it made me happy.

RacheyCat · 07/03/2020 19:06

My style is kind of 70's with a mix of glam and hippy, but polished, y'know?. Today I am wearing:

7 For All Mankind fitted, flared jeans
Grey scoop-neck top
COS charcoal kimono wrap cardi
Large silver hoop earrings
Silver rings with large coloured gems
Very light bayalaged hair with lilac roots fading to blonde
Afgan coat with maximalist flower print for outdoors
Gucci shades for when the sun comes out
Adidas continentals with rainbow stripes.

MotherPupper · 07/03/2020 19:14

Quirky colourful rockabilly with a dash of knackered mum of two!

mastertomsmum · 07/03/2020 19:27

Preppy nautical - dark not quite skinny jeans, blue embossed pattern cowl neck top with pockets, purple socks, Haflinger navy leather clogs, bracelets (because I have long arms and all tops are too short in the sleeve).

FraughtwithGin · 07/03/2020 19:43

Classic with a twist.
Cashmere and silk.

LoonyLunaLoo · 07/03/2020 19:57

My style is 12 year old VSCO girl, but it was my style first so I’m claiming it 😂. Outside of work, I can usually be found in a cropped or oversized hoodie with sports leggings, rolled up skinny jeans or, hopefully soon, tiny shorts and I have a ridiculous amount of Vans shoes, always worn with sports socks. Hair is in beachy waves or a messy bun. I’m not very sophisticated at all!

slipperyeel · 07/03/2020 20:03

This evening I’m aging rock chick
Black jeans
Black tshirt
DM boots
Piercings
Black eyeliner

Craftycorvid · 07/03/2020 20:13

The polite term is ‘eclectic’ or a lovely friend describes me as ‘unique’ - otherwise known as ‘I stumbled in the dark through a vintage kilo sale and this is what I came up with’. Lots of charity shop, eBay and vintage with DMs.

MrOnionsBumperRoller · 07/03/2020 20:15

Country frumpkin. Barbour, sensible Ariat boots, mud splattered fleece lined leggings, frumpy zip up top, Mulberry Anthony. My staple look of function and choice.

Atalune · 07/03/2020 20:16

ken you sound so soft and snuggly. I have extreme outfit envy.

TrippingOnSunshine · 07/03/2020 20:29

My look is I found a lady scarecrow in a field and nicked it's clothes.
Scruffy black cardi
Black top
Long patterned skirt
Hand knitted socks (thanks Mum)
V scruffy hair
Hat with flower in it!

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 07/03/2020 20:30

My look? Clean hedge backwards.

Lidl ski socks
Men's cotton pyjama trousers supermarket
Sports event souvenir t shirt
Tatty old Sainsbury's cardigan

Not one coordinating print among the lot!

Giggorata · 07/03/2020 20:45

Grungy, dishevelled Satanist at the moment... black legging, long grey top with floor length black hooded dressing gown because I’m feeling a bit chilly. Complete with chipped multicoloured polish on my toes and a ring the size of a teacup on my finger. Hair, fairly newly cut, but all over the place.

Underthecarpet · 07/03/2020 20:50

My style is kind of Parisian minimalist /Lou Douillon wannabe Wink

I'm wearing:

Black shearling Isabel Marant bomber jacket
White linen, slightly see through Kooples tshirt
Black Everlane ankle crop jeans
Acne Pistols
Messy hair
Eyeliner
Yellow leather tote bag

I wear a variation on this most days - lots of black, white and grey.

PrettyMuchDone · 07/03/2020 21:27

Not a clue what my style actually is, but today it was a black slash neck top, grey pin striped cropped trousers, a mustard coloured Seasalt wool cropped jacket, grey tights and orange Dr Martens.
