What do you notice?

Someone once told me they always notice people's teeth! I have to say I couldn't say what most people's teeth are like or even tell you their eye colour! I tend to look at everything overall. What do you always notice (or not) in others?

Posture, I do a lot of yoga and mine has improved a lot over the years.

People's weight. I'm very body conscious so I instantly compare my weight and size with any woman I speak to. Sad really. I notice all the other stuff as well like hair, nails, skin and makeup

Everything, instantly.

Nose, bag, watch.

Always notice people's eyes. Definitely notice people's overall appearance which would be different things on different people.
A decent coat is a good way to look smart in the winter - if you want to of course.
I think most people notice my hair which is quite wild! Can make me look quite scruffy when I'm not overall.

Hair I notice if its clean and swishy or if it has greasy strands that kind of separate from each other and have been scraped back into a wet-look ponytail (wet look from grease). And I suppose i tend to judge those people as cleanliness is something you can change easily; teeth, prettiness, your figure, not so quickly or easily.

After that i notice personality.

I also notice other people’s rings and piercings. I love rings, the more unusual and dramatic the better!
I also notice other people’s eye make up.

And like a pp women with really cool short hair. I can’t really pull of a pixie (lord knows I’ve tried) but it can look unbelievably stunning on some women.

Dodgy colour combos - Buy some navy shoes and tights, don't just wear black. Mismatched seasonal wear e.g summer dress with winter cashmere cardigan- no, just no!

AnneLovesGilbert · 06/03/2020 15:33

Eyebrows and nails. I notice teeth on people on tv but have a total blind spot for teeth and eye colour in real life. For years I couldn’t have told you what DH’s were with confidence and I love looking at his face.

They’re brown Grin

Also smell, I never lost super smell from pregnancy, it’s like a shit super power.

I always notice good hands and nails, because mine are awful and I get self conscious and hide them if I am with someone who has gorgeous nails.
Nails, hair, teeth in that order. I've seen quite a few people who have upper teeth done sparkly white but left the lower set untouched. It looks grim imo. Matching teeth look better than plastic-white even top set and yellowing, pointy, squashed lower set.

If one item doesn’t fit the rest of the outfit, it really stands out to me. Like a formal work outfit with tailored dress, heels, structured bag, and then a puffer coat on top. Or the same with a smart wool coat, but then a novelty rucksack instead of a handbag. Or a summer dress with a big heavy black bag.
Things that need to be repaired: laddered tights, shoes where the heels are scuffed and the tips worn through.
I was a big Trinny and Susannah fan so although I’m over “never wear black with colour”, it still stands out to me when someone has shoved any old black bottoms with any old top. Creamy pastel florals do not go with black pinstripes.

FaisPasCiFaisPasCa · 06/03/2020 15:49

I know now why I'm crap at recognising people!

I don't notice much unless it's something unusual, like very brightly dyed hair, big jewellery, or smoky smell, a daft hat..being extremely tall. Body weight I def don't notice. MIL once exploded at me when she'd been staying with us for a day or two because I'd not notice she'd lost several stone!

Teeth, skin
