Sheetmasks - how many times a week do you use them?

One of my closest friends is a beauty blogger who loves sheet masks and now I’m hooked on them as well Blush. She uses them every day in the evening but she’s sort of a ‘professional sheetmask user’ and I wonder how many times per week those of you who love them too, use one?

Not to brag but I do have quite good skin for my age and i think it comes down to daily Skincare

I use masks but never sheet ones as they are so bad for the environment
You end up with half the product in the packet
It’s a waste of money

They're so bad for the environment as mentioned and are becoming far less popular in Asia. The focus has shifted to all in one products these days. The whole "ten step" routine was massively exaggerated in the west imo, Asian women take care of their skin but not as much as was plugged.

@LovelsLovely

Funny, I still see many different kind of products here. Double cleansing folowing up with essence, serum, moisturizer etc still seems to be very much ‘the thing’. I also prefer a much more simple routine.

Which products that are all in 1 can you recommend me?

No idea, I'm not that into it these days, I just use moisturiser.

WinterRose92 · 20/02/2020 05:00

Twice a month I use them but I do a clay mask once a week too. Or a scrub.

@CodenameVillanelle
@cheezy

They are basically serum infused in a baby wipe type fabric.

So they are full of concentrated ingredients that hydrate and nourish the skin.

They are also very cooling and soothing. I must admit to being partial to one on a Sunday afternoon with footner socks and a decent book for twenty minutes.

When I travel or am having a health flare-up, I fall back on ponds cold cream, soap and water and Olay Total effects 7-in-1.

NeverTwerkNaked · 20/02/2020 13:46

I was given some but was absolutely horrified at how bad for the environment they must be!

Mamazita · 22/02/2020 21:50

I use them twice a week! Will finish what I have in my stash, then I’ll invest in a silicone mask

1forAll74 · 23/02/2020 06:37

oh dear what are sheet masks, I am an oldie. and have good skin, and so did my mum. and grandmother. we all only used ponds cold cream. and some vaseline on our faces.. some people will buy into any hype these days..

whitershadeofpale · 23/02/2020 14:29

Or maybe @1forAll74 different people have different skin issues or perception of what ‘good’ skin in.

Obviously being an ‘oldie’ doesn’t mean you have any manners.

At least once a week but I make my own because I cannot reconcile the waste in packaging with the benefits of applying a mask. Producing the stuff and hoping some of it will be recycled is a bit too much for me. I dislike sachet packaging in principle and hate the cream and serum samples handed out everywhere in that plasticised aluminium finish.
And I’m quite restrained with my environmental principles in general but this one does bother me.
Basically I make pretty much the same mixes as I always did and where a cloth is required (I used to soak a muslin face cloth in the mask solution and keep for 20 min), I now use a cellulose disposable mask from Amazon which I soak in my mask mix, then I cover with a silicone reusable mask from Amazon which fixes behind the ears and I can get on with doing other things instead of lying down for 20 minutes. The concept is genius. Yes, mine might not be amazing as the £75/miracle one sheet mask Victoria Beckham uses but it certainly gives amazing results.
For clay masks or peel masks (algae based like gelatine) and thicker paste masks, I don’t bother with a sheet because there’s no need. I’d wear one of these once or twice a week.
