Sheetmasks - how many times a week do you use them?

One of my closest friends is a beauty blogger who loves sheet masks and now I’m hooked on them as well Blush. She uses them every day in the evening but she’s sort of a ‘professional sheetmask user’ and I wonder how many times per week those of you who love them too, use one?

I don't use them. They are a gimmick and crap for the environment to boot.

woodencoffeetable · 19/02/2020 08:08

never

IvinghoeBeacon · 19/02/2020 08:29

Once a year, on Halloween

(Actually I have never tried one)

Honeybee85 · 19/02/2020 12:27

For those who say they’re horrible for the enviroment: the ones I currently use are not individually packed but in 1 plastic package where you take 1 out and leave the rest. They’re also made of very thin cotton.

Maybe I’m a bit thick but isn’t this the same thing as using cotton pads every day that come in a plastic package? I don’t use those btw.
I know they’re probably not very environmental friendly either but I’ve never heard of anyone I know not using them for this reason.

Don't think they're any worse for the environment than a packet of crisps tbqh.

I buy the giant plain packs of 50 and use my own serums.

IvinghoeBeacon · 19/02/2020 12:35

People might not eat crisps either. Generally anything that is single-use is not great

greasyspooncafe · 19/02/2020 12:37

Would they help with rosacea as I'm suffering at the moment.

undead · 19/02/2020 12:37

I have used them twice. Both from advent calendars. I don't really like the feeling of wet paper on my face. Also I didn't see any major improvement.

BuffaloCauliflower · 19/02/2020 12:38

Unnecessary gimmick

Lojoh · 19/02/2020 12:46

Oh yes, style and beauty, let's all give up crisps. And food that comes in packaging. Quite right. Personally I don't buy anything in a packet any more. I produce a sustainable zero waste makeup range entirely out of my own urine. Can't believe none of you do this! The key is the illuminating high beam glow from my self satisfaction. Grin

IvinghoeBeacon · 19/02/2020 13:00

I don’t use these face masks and I’m not making any claims about being environmentally friendly. But the people who don’t use them for that reason might well avoid other single-use things, how would you know?

thisenglishlife · 19/02/2020 13:10

the ones I currently use are not individually packed but in 1 plastic package where you take 1 out and leave the rest. They’re also made of very thin cotton.
Is it DIY then? Are you adding your own glycerin, hyaluronic acid, whatever?

thisenglishlife · 19/02/2020 13:12

Or adding serum, essence, oil, etc underneath?

Honeybee85 · 19/02/2020 14:29

@thisenglishlife

No they are ready for immediate use.

Surely people are also giving up cotton pads, these days.

It does seem a bit excessive OP, even £1 a day is still quite a bit monthly. Skincare done properly would negate the need for a mask. The main perk/change in appearance they offer is decent moisturisation.

I'd prefer to have a facial monthly and use decent serums/acids with the money than chuck something in the bin daily. Each tl their own though (genuinely)- I'm sure we all are creating quite a bit of waste with our toiletries.

ClientQueen · 19/02/2020 15:24

I think you can get fabric ones you soak and then wash which would be good

RightestPersonOnMN · 19/02/2020 15:26

Never, they’re a faddy waste of time and money

thisenglishlife · 19/02/2020 19:14

No they are ready for immediate use.
Do you have a link? Never seen these before, definitely better than the single use ones.

FuckingHateRats · 19/02/2020 19:55

Once a week but I tend to make them last two evenings? I wear it one evening and then squeeze all the remaining serum out and smear it on my face the following evening.

FuckingHateRats · 19/02/2020 19:56

I'm a huge fan of the blue pomegranate Garnier Moisture Bomb one.

mumao · 19/02/2020 20:00

I use master labs too... I love them! I use maybe once every two weeks...

LellyMcKelly · 19/02/2020 20:52

Only when I go for a curry and they give you a cleansing hand mask when they bring your bill 😁

Shamazing · 19/02/2020 22:01

Never, I'm another one who thinks these are dreadful for the environment too.
