I'm throwing out my fleeces help what on earth can i wear for autumn/winter........help

After three winters of wearing cheapo supermarket fleeces v v sad I know I'm going to throw them out because I want to wear something nice for once.

But what do I wear? I liked the fleeces because they kept me warm I could wash them hang on a coat hanger they dried quick and did not require ironing.

Please help, also problem I am only five foot tall I am still 10kg heavier after birth of my daughter that was 2.5 years ago! I need to dress for what I look like now!

Also my middle is like a sack of potatoes have chunky thighs in size 12/14 tops so not much going me can anyone suggest nice tops or should I just hang on to the fleeces?

Honestly until your youngest child is 4 and at school i feel there is no shame in fleeces, they are warm and practical for everyday use.
Unless you have to go to work enjoy the freedom, i would.

I would go the route of slightly longer line tops that are slimmer than smock tops but have plenty of 'room' under the bust and don't cling to your tummy this kind of thing. and then I'd wear nice cardis for warmth - not long ones or you'll get swamped but fitted ones or the nice empire-line shaped ones that are around at the moment.

assuming you are not bereft of norks...
get one nice blazery jacket with a deep v neck and a nipped-in waist to create shape
a nice scarf to keep the v necky bit warm
couple of jumpers or cardies with deep v necks - longer length 'boyfriend' type ones will hide tum.

acrylic knitwear is as quick and easy to wash as fleece, you know [stern face].

I've got Boden velvet jacket in teal and cord one in green Malory.Agree they are great for casual wear.

I've got one of thesepea coat I too am trying to rid myself of fleeces. It's a sort of half way house

like to enjoy a bottle of wine for dinner with dh also diet quite healthy portion control my problem eat as much as hubby and he is a strapping 6' 2 with healthy appetite!

Will have a serious look at Boden like their stuff and must stop thinking about clothes from a practical sense but still difficult when dealing with a messy toddler.

try putting yours on a smaller plate than DH's (works, honest)

The fleeces i have are those really thin ones which I were inside rather than a cover up to go out in.

Just want something to me look like a sexy (not tarty) well groomed women!!!! ha and that requires not much ironing. Its been so long since I bought any serious clothes my dh gets gross with me. I,ve even been out with a few hundred pounds to blow and come back with nothing.

I just seem to use the excuse thatI need something practical and why spend loads on somwthing that is going to get messed up with the day to day chores of looking after a toddler.

Maybe if I splashed on something decent it might change my perspective on things. Hate to make an expensive mistake though

Good idea to use a smaller plate might try that and eat slower!!! to make up for less food.

Mrs Badger what are lands end fits like are they generous or should I go a size uo or down?
