Do you wear your hair in a side or middle parting?

What looks best? I can’t decide. Or does it just depend on the individual/face shape etc?

I’m doing middle at the moment but wondering if side is more flattering.

Yes I know it’s not the most important thing in the world but wondering and need to decide before I get highlights.

Depends what mood I’m in when drying my hair!

dementedpixie · 26/01/2020 09:25

Side. Mine doesn't really sit properly in the middle

worldweary45 · 26/01/2020 09:26

Middle with a fringe, side without

But it's all personal preference

caulkheaded · 26/01/2020 09:30

Middle. Used to be side but trying something new. Not sure I like it though.

Verite1 · 26/01/2020 09:30

Side. Not through choice. My hair refuses to do anything else. Very annoying.

BillywigSting · 26/01/2020 09:31

Side because I have a double crown and a massive cows lick that even my hairdresser has given up trying to tame.

I don't really have much choice. If I try to do a centre part one side of my hair lies really flat and limp and the other side sticks up and looks a bit daft.

I do occasionally part on the 'wrong' side though if I want loads of volume.

TableNiner · 26/01/2020 09:33

My hairdresser said parting wasn’t relevant for highlights as it would be too obvious to do it based on it. I’m side, it’s often more flattering especially for longer faces

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 26/01/2020 09:38

Side. I really don't like middle partings on anyone,I think it's really unflattering.

Mc3209 · 26/01/2020 09:39

Mine naturally falls to the middle, but I often flip it to the side with my fingers throughout the day to get a bit of volume. Recently got curtain bangs (never again, so much hassle), so just wearing it in the middle for the time being.

Pipandmum · 26/01/2020 09:42

Side. Your face has to be quite symmetric to get away with a middle parting I think. Also I have very wavy hair so it just looks better.

MoonlightMistletoe · 26/01/2020 09:52

Mine is naturally just off centre

bananacakerox · 26/01/2020 09:54

Off centre, with a fringe. If it's in the middle my fave looks framed weirdly and my hair looks like a pair of curtains.

Bella2020 · 26/01/2020 09:58

I wear mine a little to the side. I like to have a bit of a fringe and, as I have a cowslick, it would look daft in the middle. Hard to explain!

formerbabe · 26/01/2020 09:58

Middle...I'd prefer side but it just doesn't hang right

Verite1 · 26/01/2020 10:53

On this note, my hairdresser told me to constantly switch my DDs parting around to avoid it training itself to fall in exact same place (like mine). No idea if this has any basis or not, but still try and do it!

Chochito · 26/01/2020 12:20

My hairdresser said middle suits me best. So I do middle.

Ninkanink · 26/01/2020 17:25

It depends on face shape. If you have an oval face then all styles will suit.

I’ve got an oval face so I’ve had mine with a fringe, a side fringe, in a pixie, a bob, long, short, side parting and now I have it in a middle parting.

Oblomov20 · 26/01/2020 17:34

I deliberately try and change mine every day. I try and do a zig-zag, just off centre. My hair is very fine, limp, and pretty awful.

Ninkanink · 26/01/2020 17:36

Oh yes I’ve done a zig zag too. Or a side parting but on the diagonal.

Simonfromharlow · 26/01/2020 17:38

Side. I look like Neil from the young ones if I go centre

wiltingflower · 26/01/2020 19:45

Side. Tend to part hair on one side and then flip to the other side 3/4 months later and repeat.

nancy75 · 26/01/2020 19:59

Middle (although not a proper parting, it’s a bit everywhere)
I’ve got very thick, very curly hair - if I put it in a side parting I end up with a massive side & a flat side

RidgedPerfection · 26/01/2020 20:23

Middle with a heavy fringe; before I had a fringe cut in I wore my parting to the side.

hollieberrie · 26/01/2020 20:25

Side. Otherwise I look like Richard III.

Seaandsand83 · 26/01/2020 20:28

Desperate for a side but mine will only lay properly in middle parting
