I’d love a really gorgeous scent but also kind to skin. Any recommendations please?

That's why I like the chamomile from Waitrose. They do soap, and bath foam and handwash etc for those who prefer. We used bar soap but I only use french ones in the shower as cheap soap does dry my skin.

It's a good excuse for an annual splurge at the French market when it's in town.

My favourite shower gel is Imperial Leather Sweet Treats Refreshers as it smells of sharp, fresh lemons.
I get it in Wilko for 90p.
I also love both Rituals Ritual of Sakura Cherry Blossom shower foam & Korres Santorini Vine.
I get them both from www.lookfantastic.com or Amazon.

Scrummy smelling shower gel please!

Rhubarb @doublebarrellednurse... How have i missed this??

Curses to MN introducing me to more things to spend my money on!!

BeaLola · 18/01/2020 16:47

I buy Korres from M&S when they have 20% off

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 18/01/2020 17:10

M&S have some brilliant Korres deals often a bag of 4 mixed for about half the usual price .

My favourite is the Basil /Lemon or a Ginger/Lemon one ( cannot remember the exact name)

I do have soaps but I spend most of the time picking the bloody bar up Hmm .

Soaps are better for travelling (no spillage)

shadesofwinter · 18/01/2020 17:38

I love Korres as well - I alternate between Santorini Vine, Japanese Rose and Guava.

You can get them on Amazon.

TwigTheWonderKid · 18/01/2020 17:48

I'm really surprised at how many people are still using shower gel. We switched to soap ages ago and it's brilliant. There are so many fabulous scents out there, soap lasts so much longer so you can buy quite expensive ones and it's still better value. And when you finish a bar, instead of that guilt you feel for throwing out another piece of pointless plastic into the recying bin, you get the thrill of sniffing your soap stash and deciding which one to go for next!

lotusbell · 18/01/2020 18:45

I use soap too but there are some shower gels which are too nice not to!

AuntieMarys · 18/01/2020 18:46

Clarins yellow one.

HeidioftheAlps · 18/01/2020 18:48

Palmolive Sensitive skin Milk Proteins

Shopkinsdoll · 18/01/2020 18:51

Lush rock star soap smells lovely

Shopkinsdoll · 18/01/2020 18:52

I love Palmolive too

doublebarrellednurse · 18/01/2020 18:53

@rosere whispers they do it in a soap and moisturiser as well

BercowsFlamingoFlownSouth · 19/01/2020 09:26

I'm a soap convert now. Nesti Dante and it's lasts months. A small bar lasted 3 months. My favourites are a Golden Countryside, Villages and Monasteries, Fig and Almond, Cherry and berries. I prefer liquid soap for hand washing though.

Waxlyrically · 19/01/2020 09:33

“And other stories” do some lovely fragrances that don’t upset my sensitive skin, ( Havana Blues and Arabesque Wood are gorgeous). They also offer a discount if you take the bottle back for recycling.

HeidioftheAlps · 19/01/2020 10:17

Does anyone use soap with a bath puff? I like them as they last for ages before they need replacing but soap doesn't seem to lather up enough with one. Perhaps i could get used to less lather though.
I'm not keen on plastic bath sponges or flannels

Sakura7 · 19/01/2020 10:38

Does anyone use soap with a bath puff?

I get lots of lather using Loccitane soap with a puff. Nesti Dante is pretty good too. You do need to rub a good bit on.

GuyFawkesDay · 19/01/2020 12:33

Yes I use soap and body puff. Loads of lovely foam. Far richer and more luxurious feeling than using shower gel and my skin is definitely better using soap too. Only decent stuff: french or Nesti Dante. It's a lovely everyday treat.

HeidioftheAlps · 19/01/2020 13:26

Thanks. I've got a good stash of soap as i use it for hand washing, including Nesti Dante, so I'll try again. It was a marseille soap i tried before

CountFosco · 19/01/2020 16:46

Another vote for soap for the environmental impact and the impact on your skin, you won't need deodorant if you use soap. Go wild in TKMaxx, I love the Scottish Fine Soap Company and the little tins of Marseille soap. Triple milled soap is hard and won't go gloopy. Olive soap from Marseille will not be drying. Age your soap for a few months will make it better.

Jungfraujoch · 20/01/2020 17:29

I’m happy to go soap but what do you keep it in/on in the shower? Plus most soaps seem very drying on the skin?

OP posts:
Sakura7 · 20/01/2020 18:39

They're not drying if you get a decent one like Nesti Dante or L'occitane. You can get a soap dish with holes or slits in it so any moisture drains away.

SpeckledyHen · 20/01/2020 19:50

Chic what ones would you recommend please ?

TheWoodsareDarkandDeep · 20/01/2020 21:23

Can anyone recommend a non-plastic shower puff.

QueenOfOversharing · 21/01/2020 17:00

@doublebarrellednurse thank you for mentioning the L'Occitane rhubarb (it's for grapefruit too) - I bought it today & quite honestly cannot wait to get in the shower!

I love the Fresh shower gels - so thick & smell delicious. I usually go for Brown Sugar one.

Also - Body Shop did vanilla & marshmallow Christmas before last - that is delicious! They do Mojito & Pina Colada too in the summer which are so gorgeous.
