Advice please, going away to a really humid climate, would cutting my Twinkle Tip curls off super short again still suit me? Pic shown.

We are all off to Singapore this month to visit my sister for 5 weeks. I have been warned that the humidity is so bad it will play havoc with my curly hair. From my late teens I cut it short in a Halle Berry style cut for ease as it was such hard work to maintain but about 4 years ago I suddenly decided to grow it longer again. Whatever anti frizz product you name I have either tried or have, so I now remember how difficult it was for me before I cut it off years ago. I have spoken to my hairdresser about a new Halle cut. She feels I will suit it still but has suggested that I cut it even shorter before I go, down to a really short look like I have shown below as the humidity is nearly 100% in Singapore and that will be the only way to have no maintenance hair while I am away. Her point also is that after 6 weeks it will then be long enough for her to shape up back into a Halle short feminine style which I would love to have again. What do you all think?

Personally I think your hair looks lovely as it is!! You could always wear it up in Singapore.

MayFayner · 04/01/2020 22:42

No way would I do this for for a 5 week holiday! If you’re thinking of cutting it anyway, then fair enough.

I think your hair is gorgeous though. I wouldn’t cut it.

MabelFurball · 04/01/2020 22:45

Same as LilyJade. Leave hair as is. Tie back if gets annoying.

RumpoleoftheBaileys · 04/01/2020 22:49

Nooooooo

RumpoleoftheBaileys · 04/01/2020 22:49

Don’t cut it

Rachelfromfriends1 · 04/01/2020 22:50

I think you can definitely pull it off, but I wouldn’t bother cutting it that short just for a holiday!

Your hair wouldn’t be that much of an issue in the warmer climate to justify chopping it all off imo. I think that’s overkill as it’s such a drastic change.

The humidity won’t be that bad if you don’t style it/leave it natural and tie it up. Maybe experiment with haircare products now before you go and gradually start washing it less etc to prepare it for your holiday routine.

My hair is long and when I was somewhere recently with similar humidity I combed it through with a UV protection oil every morning and then wore it up in a bun, keeping it off my neck. The oil kept it frizz free and in good condition and it looked fine, semi slicked back but not really oily like gel.

Rachelfromfriends1 · 04/01/2020 22:51

Also ask your sister for tips, presumably she and her friends/family etc have longer hair than the Halle length and manage

80sstyle · 04/01/2020 22:51

I like it as it is! Can’t you just scrape it back?

ironicname · 04/01/2020 22:51

Don't cut for the sake of 5 weeks, just find some easy, casual up styles.

MrsIronfoundersson · 04/01/2020 22:52

Noooo! Your hair is gorgeous, don't chop it! Just put a product on and tie it back.

Paddy1234 · 04/01/2020 22:54

Nooooooooo!
Your hair is gorgeous ❤️

ILoveWelshCakes123 · 04/01/2020 23:21

Your hair is beautiful, just tie it up for five weeks or put it in a bun.

Scarscar · 04/01/2020 23:29

Spent a month in Singapore and it made no noticable difference to my hair. Mine is long thick course and frizzy/wavy though.

I think you have lovely hair and cutting it that short could look a bit harsh.

I'd probably go with hair oil and a bun if required.

ursuslemonade · 04/01/2020 23:30

Fuck no.
Your hair is lovely.
You'll survive the trip.

citychick · 05/01/2020 00:35

Hi.
I live in a hot humid climate and generally speaking it's much easier to have longer hair than shorter.

I have thick wavy hair that goes frizzy and woolly in humid conditions.
I get an anti frizz treatment from the hairdresser to clam it down.

You have lovely hair. Don't cut it off for a holiday unless you're wanting short hair anyway.

5 weeks will fly by but it will take a lot longer to grow your hair back.

Enjoy Singapore. It's so much fun.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 05/01/2020 00:39

Jesus,no!!!

MrsEricBana · 05/01/2020 00:40

As others have said, wear it up the whole time if it's a problem. Your hair is SO pretty. I definitely think keep it as is.

NumbersStation · 05/01/2020 00:46

Leave it be! Your hair is beautiful Smile

May I suggest colour wow dreamcoat? I look like crystaltips without it at the first hint of moisture. Nothing else works but this does!

Miniloso · 05/01/2020 00:57

Don’t do it! Madness!

EnidButton · 05/01/2020 02:41

Your hair is properly gorgeous.

What about thin cotton headscarves? As a thick headband with the rest up in a bun. My hair goes wild and pouffy in humidity so I get it but I wouldn't cut your hair for that. It looks in really good condition and the length is perfect on you. Just get it up and out of your way.

EnidButton · 05/01/2020 02:43

The short hair would suit you btw, to answer your title question. It just seems a shame when it's so nice as it is.

HoneysuckleSpeck · 05/01/2020 02:50

Do you mean Crystal Tips?

You’ve got gorgeous hair. I’d kill for hair like that. Don’t cut it off.

NumbersStation · 05/01/2020 03:13

Yes Honeysuckle - crystal tipps -70s child. Just grey now though...

ittooshallpass · 05/01/2020 03:50

My curly hair always looks better when I'm somewhere humid!

Your hair has very soft looking curls, just tie it back if it's bothering you. I personally wouldn't cut my hair off for a 5-week trip
