Christmas Day outfits

I've been half heartedly looking for the perfect Xmas day dress all year and recently upped the ante but still no luck. Want a patterned mostly red (but not fire engine red - more rusty / claret) with pockets and that doesn't look like I'm wearing a sack! Above the knee as I've got wide hips but good legs and anything longer makes me look enormous.

I might give up and so am looking for inspiration. I'm at home cooking for 9 so something easy to wear / comfy and will have my slippers on!!

I have a candy cane print dress from Popsy which appears to be no longer on site. Swishy skirt and stretchy material, nice and thin too as I always end up boiling on Christmas Day. I also have the matching one for DD because I’m a loser

Ill be wearing this dress in either Red or Black & White Spots, as i have both.

I bought it at a shopping centre near me ( on the Isle of Man ) . I have taken a photo of the label for you .
It’s so soft but reminds me of a Welsh weave .

I’m jealous of all your glamorous outfits! I’m currently eight and a half months pregnant and feel enormous so think I’ll be in leggings and a Christmas jumper.
I’ll make an effort and curl my hair, do nice make up but imagine I shall still feel grotesque and monstrous!

The Hush trick finally worked and my size was back in stock! But now it's a race against time to see if it will be for Xmas 19 or 20!!

I love the Kensington but I am a fan of the style in general. Not convinced with the short dress.

I feel lovely in the Kensington but think the long sleeves / high neck / long full skirt make me look a bit Amish

I prefer the silhouette of your shorter dress. I’m short too, I feel like the length of the longer dress is too much & it looks quite bulky at the hem, I wouldn’t feel comfortable in that, personally. But I suppose heels might transform the outfit? If you like it, wear it!

The long sleeved one looks nicest.

I'm wearing this skirt, with a black cami top and tights. The skirt is a wool and lurex and has a sparkle running through it. Plus crucially it has an elastic waistband. 🍴🍗🥦🥔🥧🍫🍯🌰🍭🍰🍬🥜🧀🍴

Fine wool sweater dress in green, which is a festive colour imo - not cooking this year, so no last minute quick change.

@FusionChefGeoff the short one is nice but nothing special imo. I think you look amazing in the longer one - really stylish.

I'm sticking with the long one - tried it on again and I was swooshing around the house with a big grin - and THAT's how I want to feel on Christmas Day 😀
