What make up items do you wear on a daily basis and do you use expensive or high street brands?
Mine is quite low key Grin

  • NYX HD concealer £6
  • Hema eyebrow pencil £2,50
  • Max Factor 2000 calorie mascara £10
  • Sephora lipgloss +/- £13

Total £31,50

Please don't make me do this, else I will remember I have about 20 💄 in addition to the same mascara as you! Not spendy lipsticks, bjudt lots. Plus eyeliner, no 7 foundation. Eye cream that smooths wrinkles temporarily which is a mitscle worker... Elizabeth arden blusher from years ago, lying dormant until I just rediscovered it. Oh gosh. Hundreds of pounds. But not spent all at once...

This is my ‘ handbag makeup bag’

I have a beautycase full of cosmetics in my bedroom but try to stick to a minimalist daily look!

I had my handbag stolen once. I didn't put in a claim for my handbag as it was worth £20 but the make up claim was for £600.

Mine is a bit of a mix. I don't think could ever swap my YSL touché eclat foundation (£30). I have really dry sensitive skin and once I find a good foundation I find it hard to swap! Always used cheap concealer then my wedding MUA used urban decal colour corrector and weightless concealer (£20 each) and I was hooked! Goodbye black bags, makes me look slightly more alive in a morning 🤣
Other than that, think my mascara and eyebrow pencil are 'makeup obsession', a bronzer stick thing from new look which has been surprisingly good! And an old NARS highlighter that was a birthday present :)

bluebell94 · 06/12/2019 04:25

Urban decay*

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 06/12/2019 05:34

Often don't bother for work because cba at 6 in the morning. On a day when I'm not at work:
Porefessional primer - it's stupidly expensive for what you get though and I need to find a cheaper replacement £25 ish
Doublewear foundation £30 ish
Mac Teddy eyeliner £15 ish
Urban Decay eyeshadow £15 to £30 ish depending which I choose
Rollerlash £20 ish
Dandelion £25 ish
Mac lipstick £16

That's quite shocked me actually, seeing it all added up together. In my defence, they all last for absolutely ages.

justilou1 · 06/12/2019 05:39

I just spent a squillion on makeup. (But my last lot had begun to evolve)

JMAngel1 · 06/12/2019 05:47

In my handbag makeup (the stash at home is HUGE!)

Benefit brightening under eye concealer £18
Laura Mercier loose powder - decanted - £12
Maybelline Lip liner £6 Almond Rose
MAC Faux or Hug Me Lipstick £15 each
Superdrug B wrinkle filler for under eyes £9
Avon Pro Retinol Lip Balm £5

I don't take mascara/eyeliner/foundation around with me.

JMAngel1 · 06/12/2019 05:59

@SpongeBobJudgeyPants
oooh which wrinkle eye cream please - sounds good.

Cheesymonster · 06/12/2019 08:08

Watching with interest as I’m looking for a new under eye concealer!

What I wear daily:

Maybelline age rewind concealer- about £5
Lumene tinted moisturiser- free with a birch box but it’s so good I have asked for the full size for Christmas which is about £30 (gulp)
MAC blot powder - about £20
Soap and Glory archery brow pencil - about £10
NYX liquid liner - can’t remember how much but less than £10
Maybelline great lash mascara - about £5
Benefit Galifornia blusher - it’s a mini one so it was about £11

shirleyschmidt · 06/12/2019 08:27

For a working day "full face":

Smashbox Photofix Primer £25ish
EL Double Wear £31
Jeffree Star concealer £21
EL pressed powder £31
Milani Blusher £11
Makeup Revolution eyeshadow £9
L'Oréal Miss Manga mascara £8
Rimmel kohl liner £5
Not wedded to any particular bronzer so price varies.

That seems a lot but it lasts a while, stays on and is pretty easy to apply. Love doing my makeup in the mornings, would spend all morning playing if I could 😆

Thestinkycheeseman · 06/12/2019 11:28

I only carry lip balm in my handbag.
I do full face with setting spray before I leave the house

Ratonastick · 06/12/2019 12:01

I had a handbag stolen a few years ago. It wasn’t a mega designer bag, but a nice one of about £300 so I decided to put a claim in. When I went through and added it up the total claim was nearly £2000 and about £400 was make up. The loss adjuster didn’t so much as blink at the total. I was stunned.

Honeybee85 · 06/12/2019 12:16

Wow, thanks for the responses everyone!
I noticed my daily look is indeed very minimal 😅!

keepingbees · 06/12/2019 12:23

I have a big make up box full of different lipsticks and stuff. My daily wear stuff is:
Dream mousse foundation £7
Revolution powder £6
Barry M mascara £5
MUA eyeshadow palette £4ish
Rimmel eye brow pencil £3
Bronzer/blush probably around £4/5
Lipstick usually £3-5

Buddyelf · 06/12/2019 12:26

I dread to think the total cost of my whole make up bag Blush
My everyday going to work look
Maybelline foundation £10
Touche eclait concealer £23
Top shop eyeliner £9
Ted Baker eye shadow and liquid liner (no price they came in a set)
Maybelline lash primer and mascara £15ish
Chanel bronzer £40
Benefit dandelion blusher mini (not sure how much that was)
Charlotte Tilbury powder £35
Rimmel lipstick £5

LaLaLanded · 06/12/2019 12:30

Daily wear:

  • Laura Mercier foundation: £36
  • Decorte translucent powder: £45
  • revolution bronzer pallet (also use as eyeshadow): £5
  • revolution ‘the mascara’ mascara: £8
  • paw paw lip tint balm: £7

So approx £100? I did get the foundation and face powder for £2 each through work... but I spend on skincare and base rather than mascara etc, so would have bought them anyway.

Honeybee85 · 06/12/2019 12:31

@LaLaLanded

Decorte powder for £2! 😱
I officially envy you now
