What make up items do you wear on a daily basis and do you use expensive or high street brands?
Mine is quite low key Grin

  • Hema eyebrow pencil £2,50
  • Max Factor 2000 calorie mascara £10
  • Sephora lipgloss +/- £13

Total £31,50

Benefit brow zings

By Terry eye crayon

Dior lip gloss or Chanel lip stuff

I'm a high end make up person I suppose!

slinkysaluki · 06/12/2019 16:24

Primark Perfect foundation in beige £3.50. Was very sceptical but tried it and its great. Brilliant colour match and coverage.

Bourjois aqua blush £ 2.50 from Ebay. Really good, light gel consistency

Bad Girl Bang black mascara travel size £5

Avon glimmerstick eyeliner in Lavender Grey £3

Rimmel lip liner in nude and Primark lipgloss about £3

Primark gel nail varnish is amazing for £1. Lasts ages and good colour

That's just everday make up i have lots more

SallieSallow · 06/12/2019 18:21

The makeup bag I carry round with me usually contains:

Beauty blender - £5ish
Bare minerals stick foundation - £15ish (part of a set)
Hourglass ambient lighting palette - £60
IT cosmetics brow pencil - £10ish (part of a set)
DHC mascara - £12.50
Revlon balm stain - £5ish
Bare minerals gloss - £5ish (part of a set)
Charlotte tilbury powder - £35

So £147.50 and this is just my small on the go makeup bag and doesn’t even include brushes though they all came from sets/kits. I probably have 3 or 4 times that on my dressing table/in my stash. And I thought I’d cut down on makeup spends....Shock Blush

Pomegranatepompom · 06/12/2019 21:41

Everyday make up:

Bare minerals compact £27 and brush £25
Clarins lip balm £18
Eve lom lip balm ?£15
Mac Blusher (had ages) ?£20
3 x Laura mercier Caviar sticks £72
Urban decay eye lines £18
Benefit brown gel and pencil £40
Estee Lauder Mascara - was from a gift set so no idea re cost.
Laura Mercier lipstick £24

Around £300

FairyJuice · 06/12/2019 22:08

Clarins SOS primer £30
Eldw light foundation £35
Lancome blush (from a lancome palette set that cost about £70)
Lancome definition mascara £20
Mac eyebrow pencil £18
Clarins under eye concealer £23
Naked 2 palette £50
Rimmel brick bronzer £8
MUR highlighter £8
Estée Lauder eyeliner £25
Rimmel lipstick £6
Lancome l'absolu gloss £23
Lancome juicy shaker £20

So £336 Shock Shocking when you add it all up Shock

I have another few bags with more lipsticks and stuff that I use less regularly too.

In my defence though, I was never a high-end makeup person til DH got a job where he gets a sizeable duty free discount and also travels a bit and lets me spend his airmiles.

Miseryisabutterfly · 06/12/2019 22:22

Urban decay honey palette €49
Vichy dermablend compact €25
Benefit that gal primer €32
Benefit badgal mascara €27
Benefit hoola bronzer €34
Benefit gimme brow €26
Benefit goof proof pencil €26
Benefit 24hr shaper €26
Benefit benetint €34
Benefit benebalm €21
Rimmel clear complexion powder €6

So €306, unless my maths is shite 😂 I also use the st tropez facial mist daily over my makeup

Miseryisabutterfly · 06/12/2019 22:25

The primark nail varnish really is fab! I’m a convert after reading about it on here. I bought a good one during the week and it’s gorgeous.

Miseryisabutterfly · 06/12/2019 22:25

dudsville · 07/12/2019 06:18

My hand bag has an Estee Lauder camouflage tube and make up sponge, a chanelle lipstick, Nivea blue tub hand cream, carmex lip salve and a nail file.

OhWellThatsJustGreat · 07/12/2019 06:34

I need to up my every day game haha :

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder - £2.50
Soap and Glory Archery Brow Tint & Pencil - £10
Mac In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash Mascara - £20
Benefit BADgal waterproof eyeliner - £16
Boots no7 day, night and eye creams - £60
Soap and Glory One Heck Of A Blot Primer - £11 @RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie I would say its comparable to Benefits POREfessional if you want to try something else (I stopped using that as I can't justify the amount it costs when at full price)

SpeckledyHen · 07/12/2019 07:58

I take a lipstick, concealer and a mini mirror with me on a daily basis .

For those of you who take the full face works - do you re-apply all your make-uk during the day ?

SpeckledyHen · 07/12/2019 08:01

Me again Think I have misunderstood. I thought it was take out with you from the title, but wear everyday . Ignore me :)

newdeer · 07/12/2019 08:11

Mine adds up evn though most of it is fairly cheap:

Revlon foundation about £9
Revlon eyeshadow palette £8
Revlon bronzer £6
Revlon blusher £6
Rimmel lipliners x2 £12
Rimmel lipsticks x 2 £14
Maybelline mascara £8
Rimmel brow mascara £6
Lip gloss £5
Bobbi Brown concealer (only expensive product) £25

Total: £99!

newdeer · 07/12/2019 08:15

This threading isn't helping. I love the sound of some of the things in other people's make up bags. Avon lavender grey eyeliner and Soap and Glory primer.

I did give up on Benefits though. Too expensive and I found their products dry out really quickly. The pore primer is good but deathly pale. I love Revlon, Rimmel and Maybelline for good quality low price.

avocadotofu · 07/12/2019 12:38

My daily makeup includes:
Hourglass veil mineral primer £55
Hourglass ambient lighting powder £42
Estée Lauder double wear nude water fresh foundation £34
Beauty pie concealer £5ish

Onwardsagain · 07/12/2019 19:45

Eeep! Let's see 🙈

MAC prep and prime £24
Bobbi brown foundation £32
Bobbi brown powder foundation to set £30
Bobbi brown concealer £24
MAC eyeshadow primer £20
MAC eyeshadow £18
Urban Decay palette £42
No7 eyeliner £8
Clinique mascara £18
MAC blusher £18
Benefit brow zings £27
Chanel lipstick £31

Just over £300 😳🤭

HundredMilesAnHour · 07/12/2019 20:39

For an average work day:

Armani UV Master Primer £42
Armani Last Silk Foundation £42
MAC concealer £18ish
La Prairie loose powder £80ish
Trish McEvoy Eye Brightener £19
Tarte eyeshadow palette £38
Armani eye pencil £20
Trish McEvoy mascara £22
IT cosmetics eyebrow pencil £19
Laura Mercier eyebrow gel £19
Nars Multiple £30
Marc Jacobs lip pencil £18
Armani lipstick £31
Trinny Miracle Blur £36

Total: £412 (eek!)

None of this travels to work with me though. I keep a pressed powder compact and a lipstick in my work bag but that's all I take.

Foundation changes to IT Cosmetics CC cream (so £11 cheaper) if it's a gym day and I'll be sweating a lot. Armani foundation is fabulous but it disappears if you sweat or live anywhere humid (as I found out when I lived in Asia for a few years).

Pirisprinkles · 07/12/2019 21:48

Let's see what is inside my travel makeup bag...
Nars powder foundation £35
Nars creamy concealer £24
Benefit boiing mini concealer £10
Urban Decay single eyeshadow £15
Marc Jacobs blush £28
Urban Decay mini setting spray £10
MAC eyebrow pencil £17.5
Dollywink mascara £12
MAC lipglass £16
Shu Uemura eyelash curler £20
And a few brushes.

IlsSortLaPlupartAuNuitMostly · 07/12/2019 21:56

I concentrate my spending on the problem areas, so
Bobbi Brown eyebrow palette (30 quid but has lasted me for literally five years)
Bobbi Brown undereye colour corrector and concealer (about 25 quid each and now discontinued - the replacements aren’t as good).
Garnier CC tinted moisturiser - probably less than a tenner
Mascara, whatever’s nearest probably about a tenner
Lipstick - Probably Revlon and less than a tenner.

So about a hundred quid.

Isadora2007 · 07/12/2019 22:00

Ummmm. Nothing. Unless you count a lip salve which is either a mini Vaseline or a lipsyl... £1.00

I moisturise every other day if I remember and get my eyebrows threaded every 6:8 weeks. But I don’t wear any makeup.

Feeling like I’ve saved a small fortune now 😇

Chickydoo · 07/12/2019 22:13

Daily
Bourgeois Healthy mix foundation £9.00
Clarins blusher about £25
Cheapie mascara £5
Estée Lauder lippy Tigers eye or another that I can't remember the name of. £25.
Have a small basket of other items, eyeliners, concealers etc.
Tbh I much prefer skincare to make up

Loopytiles · 07/12/2019 22:19

Boots No 7 foundation and powder.

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 07/12/2019 22:45

I’ve never really thought about this before...
So my “work” face yesterday involved..
No 7 primer £16.50
Clinique concealer £21
No 7 mineral powder £14
No 7 blusher £9
3 shades of Clinique eye shadow £17.50 each
Clinique eyeliner £16.50
No 7 mascara£12

More expensive than I guessed....

soupmaker · 07/12/2019 22:56

Small Vaseline tin. £1 I think. And the Aldi dupe for Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream.

That's it.

I have very sensitive skin so don't wear make up very often but have eyebrows threaded and lashes tinted every 6-8 weeks. Aldi Rose oil and their dupe for La Prairie day cream every morning.

I used to spend a fortune on my skin but these products seem to work for me at the moment.
