Not sure I should be on this thread as bought the Debenhams one and a skirt at the same time today🙈 I now have 3 beauty advent calendars, think going to use them back to back until March. I do live in the muddy countryside with lots of animals to look after plus busy job and young child and think that the counterbalance to that is more beauty advent. I thought two last year (no.7 and Charlotte tilbury) was bad, now have M&S, glossybox and debenhams..... have a great weekend everyone

CountryCob · 28/11/2019 16:39

Also that homemade advent calendar is amazing

Bansku19 · 28/11/2019 17:02

I can't have more than one beauty calendar because dc would ask questions why they only have one calendar each. My solution was to open Birchbox beforehand...

LEELULUMPKIN · 28/11/2019 17:17

Countrycob - You have found your people! :)

KeithPartridge · 28/11/2019 17:38

Hello all. I bought the Latest in Beauty calendar and opened it as I wanted to use a few of the products...it is really brilliant but one of the products was missing!! I wonder if I should contact them or would that be silly?🤔

KeithPartridge · 28/11/2019 17:39

Lol Flicka yes and This Works Sleep spray. I must have four of those.

Writersblock2 · 28/11/2019 17:56

@friendlyflicka but you can never have too many Orgasms! Grin

Just saw in hukd that Powder has beauty boxes for £10 instead of £40.

SymphonyofShadows · 28/11/2019 18:57

I had the Powder box last year on a similar deal through MSE, IIRC is was good.

Tetraread · 28/11/2019 18:58

@CottonHeadedNinyMuggins I tend to just sub to birchbox when there's an offer on, they quite often do deals where you get a free palette or something, and you can still cancel when you like. The boxes I have had have been okay, a fairly good mix of hair care/skin care/make up, but they somehow feel very similar. In honesty, unless you really want to try new products with a view to changing what you buy often so are using them to try out then it's good, but for bits and bobs you can add to your collection, meh. Each box usually has one thing I really like in, but then I think I could have more or less bought the full size version of just that for the same price!

SunshineCake · 28/11/2019 19:00

Why would it be silly? It is missing you should get it.

I emailed Molton Brown when they didn't include a free treat they offered. They sent three to say sorry.

SouthWestmom · 28/11/2019 19:50

Yes definitely tell them - might be others with the same issue.

Those of you with '12 days' do you open from 12th or do one very other day?

KeithPartridge · 28/11/2019 20:47

Ok I will contact them. It was one I was looking forward to as well but the little compartment was empty.😭 Despite that I really liked the calendar.

notangelinajolie · 28/11/2019 21:01

@Noeuf officially the 12 days of Christmas starts on the 25th December and runs until 12th night which is the night of the 5th of January. That is when you supposed to take the Christmas decorations down unless like me you are sick of the sight of them and take them down sooner

But whatever suits you. I'm having a John Lewis Jadvent this year. Roll on January 1st Smile

walkingdeadmum · 28/11/2019 21:12

Counting down to the 1st December. I'm so excited haha!

PrincessWatermelon · 28/11/2019 21:19

I've received my 12 days of beauty - M&S Formula one. I plan on opening it all now, as I really ordered it for the night cream. But feels a bit wrong!

SouthWestmom · 28/11/2019 21:30

Oh goodness angelina I'm done by Boxing Day! Don't make me wait til Christmas to get my hands on the goodies!

I'm going to do 12-24

eatsleepmoverepeat · 28/11/2019 21:35

I’ve been a greedy fucker and fully opened several advents already. It’s been glorious. I should have kept one and done Jadvent but I’m not patient enough

SymphonyofShadows · 28/11/2019 21:48

I’m going to go for the Glossybox Black Friday box and the special edition that they have coming out, then that’s me. I feel a bit dirty Grin

whyamidoingthis · 28/11/2019 21:56

It was one I was looking forward to as well but the little compartment was empty.

Is it possible that it's fallen out and is in the box somewhere (don't know what the calendar looks like so not sure is that possible)

Doubleraspberry · 28/11/2019 23:27

That calendar looks awesome.

I managed to reduce my friend to tears in the office this morning with my offering. (She is quite weepy in general at the moment.) It’s good to see my old box being put to use.

Butterymuffin · 29/11/2019 00:25

I had the Black Friday Glossybox in my basket and was about to press Order, then had a rethink, and decided not to get it but to wait and see what the mystery boxes are that will be available from 7am. It's a great price but think I was letting myself overlook that it's not the best combination of items for me. @SymphonyofShadows have you got it?

CountryCob · 29/11/2019 07:05

Well done Doublerasberry and thanks Leelulumpkin!

Tetraread · 29/11/2019 07:07

@Butterymuffin I think the mystery boxes are just one of the past boxes? So if you've subbed could be a gamble! I do want the christmas one which launches in the 3rd though.

Butterymuffin · 29/11/2019 08:07

If anyone's subscribed to Glossybox, they now have a flash sale on for subscribers only with last year's advent calendar available for £40. I got it last year so won't again but it's good and if anyone missed out on this year's or was still looking, it's worth doing. I assume you could also do the offer where you subscribe now and get your first box for £5..
