whats your shape?

haircolour?

height?

budget?

onlyWotz · 19/08/2007 12:58

16 on top
14 on bottom (so dresses tend ot to fit)
Brown shoulder length hair
5' 7.5' (heels make me same height as dh, so would rather not, as he is oming too)
Budget ??? um I like good value but without shoes and bag, probaly about £60 - £80 (£80 if I don't tell dh )

kitsandbits ??? where have you gone?

OP posts:
jaynehater · 19/08/2007 15:17

All I can see on the Chester races site is that 'smart dress' is required - just the usual.

this would be going too far, IMO

onlyWotz · 19/08/2007 15:20

lol - yes just a tad!

OP posts:
jaynehater · 19/08/2007 15:21

have you tried Bizrate?

onlyWotz · 19/08/2007 15:24

thanks for link, jh I will have a look

OP posts:
jaynehater · 19/08/2007 15:26

Sorry, Wotz, just realised that link is as much use as a poke in the eye if you don't want dresses....I really am giving nothing my full attention today, sorry

Klaw · 19/08/2007 15:29

what about a suit combo, that way you can get trousers and jacket of differing sizes, wear with an existing top (or not at all!)

and also then you can mix and match on other occassions.......

onlyWotz · 19/08/2007 17:22

I think I may work with what I have for trousers and get a fancy new top and accessorise a little.

New bag maybe?? There were some nice ones on Next last week.

OP posts:
Klaw · 19/08/2007 17:25

It's a pain isn't it? I can never find what I'm looking for when I'm looking for it, but it will have been in the shops a few months back or will appear after the event....

onlyWotz · 19/08/2007 17:34

I don't know anyone else who is going so I can't aks them what they think either.

OP posts:
jaynehater · 19/08/2007 18:19

look what I found!

onlyWotz · 19/08/2007 18:44

jh thanky you soooooo much for that.

I frequently see the ladies heading down to the races (I live near Chester). I'd say legs, and cleavage are always popular , lots of facinators, wedge heels, and pashminas. Oh and hideous fake tans .

onlyWotz · 19/08/2007 19:43

Good idea with pashmina and I can do wedge heals and a slight tan as I have been on hols, I don't do fake anything!
thanks

Slubberdegullion any suggestions on a nice hotel to stay over night nearby - minus dds as a treat for me and dh?

OP posts:
Slubberdegullion · 19/08/2007 19:51

Oh blimey, do you want in the city, or out a bit into the countryside?

onlyWotz · 19/08/2007 19:57

not sure, sorry! will just want to check in luchtime and crash out later. Maybe a short taxi ride as we are there for some time we might have a drink or two!

OP posts:
onlyWotz · 19/08/2007 19:57

TBH it doesn't need to be posh, just not above a local pub!

OP posts:
onlyWotz · 19/08/2007 20:04

Jh that guide says 'Suits are more prevalent (and practical) in the cooler months, while a flirty dress is the way to go at the warmer times of year'

So as it is cooler now do you think i'll be OK in tousers and flirty top and some cleavage as Slubber suggests?

OP posts:
onlyWotz · 19/08/2007 20:15

I am trying to convince ah to wear this matching set

must be dotty about each other

OP posts:
WaynettaSlob · 19/08/2007 20:21

Do you have smart black trousers and nice high sandals/shoes to go with them? If so, we could just concentrate on the top
