I'd second the vote for starting with wedges - I found some in Evans that were very comfortable (made for wide feet), and now I've got used to them, I can just about do medium-ish heels. Nothing very high, but I like being able to have the option. Still can't do spike heels though - prefer something a bit chunkier.

i have been wearing high heels for so long i can no longer wear flatties.i can't walk in flat shoes and they make my legs hurt(i only know this from spending a week in hospital wearing slippers all day every day).

i fing wedge sandals comfy, and tend to wear chunky heeled boots/shoes in the winter,as my feet are big and look silly in delicate girly things.i would love to be able to wear strappy sandals but i would look a knob.

Nbg · 18/08/2007 20:32

Try these for starters. Glam, slight heels, comfy and go with everything!

puffylovett · 18/08/2007 20:45

(sighs and dreams of red patent shoes) I'm glad I'm not alone, now i feel so much better.

i've so far made the transition from trainers, to clarks' open toed granny hiking sandals. great for pushing a buggy but not v stylish.

i dream of stylish shoes every night.

Sorry to crash.

I don't normally post except on the April 2007 Post Natal. I'm 4ft 11 inches, size 3 feet and I love wearing heals...I notice littlelapin that you say you've got a new pair of platforms...may I ask where from? I'm really struggling to find platform boots and sandals at the moment. TIA
