How many bras do you own?

And for that matter, how many pairs of pants and socks?

I have a massive underwear drawer with about 20 bras, about 50 pairs of pants and 40 odd pairs of socks. I don’t like most of my underwear so I’m planning a refresh, but I have no idea what a good amount to own is. Throwing the question out to find out where I should aim!

I find I tend to let the laundry mount up and I feel like maybe having too much underwear might be part of the reason why?

About 15. I always buy 2 pairs of matching knix with a new bra. I wear once and wash, they go under my armpits after all. Delicates machine wash in a lingerie bag.

I love bright colours, soft pastels and patterns but I don’t do white or beige; too functional looking and reminds me of school.

How many socks, stockings, tights? It’s the greatest mystery of the chest of drawers.

I used to own a lot of cheap, useless bra. I wear 80A, so I'd say medium sized breasts.

I had a massive clear out and bought more expensive but quality bras so I own 8:
-3 black
-2 nude
-2 white
-1 red (don't ask, I never wear it)

I also have a few sport bras for the gym

I had a massive cull a few years ago. I now have six. Two white, one black, one nude, a red and a blue. I used to have 20+.

6 + 2 sleep bras.

3 everyday nude t-shirt bras for everyday and about 6 sports bras.

I did a big clear out years ago. I have about 12 bras and pants. My sock drawer however is more crowded. I have 4 pairs each of the little hidden socks, ankle socks, wool calf socks, cotton calf socks, cotton knee socks, black and nude tights.

@Miseryisabutterfly - I love my red bras too. They are also suprisingly subtle under white. I think it’s the mix of the red with the white overlay that makes them quite discreet.

But I’m sure there is a one legged mystery woman who sneaks in and steals odd socks and odd stockings in the middle of the night.

I have 15 in various colours which actually, unintentionally, match my knickers (different manufacturers and bought at different times)!

I have a complete change of clothes, including bra, everyday.
I have numerous socks which also get changed daily.

I had a breast reduction earlier this year, before that I had about 30 massive bras. I think I kept buying them in hope I would find one that made me look ok and feel comfortable. Now I have four - two nude, two black. One of the black ones is still unworn. I also have 4 pull on bralettes (the novelty!) and two identical sports bras. I find that plenty.

How do people get by on so little?
I've 5 x white, 5 x nude and 1 x black t-shirt bras all with same coloured knickers.
Then lots of pretty sets of matching underwear.
1 x Wonderbra strapless in nude.

Can't have non-matching knickers and have to wash bras after each wear.

If you want to have the minimum possible, get nude stuff as that is ok to go under everything.

i think i have about 15 bras and 16 knickers and about 14 socks, i do plan to have a clear out and get rid of some that are worn out though but i can't wear a bra for more than a day so don't think i could live with less than 10.

About 10 bras, but I only wear my 2 favourite ones, alternating/ washing those constantly!

I think I have 20. I handwash so wear some regularly then others as back up one size is smaller than the other.

Hmm, I probably have around 60 bras, 90 -100 pairs of knickers (most matching the bras, the remainder being my 'gym' pants, and maybe 40 pairs of socks.

I love lingerie. It goes right from Primark at £15 for a matching set to some at £500 for the set.

My outer clothes are of no real interest to me ;blush]

I’m so glad someone else posted that they have a ridiculous amount! I also probably own about 60 bras! I love nice lingerie and don’t like to wear the same ones all the time. I have matching pants for nearly all except my sports bras.

Although l always buy 2 pairs of matching knix with a new bra (unless I have picked one up in a sale where the knickers aren’t available), l’m not going to pretend l’m exactly matching underneath all the time. I do, however, choose things that go together when l get dressed. For example, l wouldn’t wear green knickers (although I have some) with a red bra.

I do puzzle over those who have only 3 or 4 bras though. Likewise I wonder about those who only buy black, cardboard (call it “nude” if you like) and white.

I’ve got loads, maybe 30 or so sets with matching pants. I mostly wear two everyday t-shirt bras that don’t show under clothes and relatively comfortable.

I don't really understand your post? Why do I need 3 sports bras? I wear one, wash it and dry it ready for when I use it next. I don't wear one every day.

two proper and i alternate. I'm between breastfeeding stints so only bought two when i went for a post weaning fitting.

i've also got a load of nursing ones that will have to do for my next and last tit limpet. once that's over i'll properly restock.

VioletCharlotte I need 3 sports bras because I work out daily. Unlike regular bras, I only wear sports bras once as I sweat. I really can not be arsed to do laundry every day so on day 1 I wear bra 1...goes in the hamper. Next day I wear bra 2....both go into the wash....Day 3 I wear bra 3 (as bras 1&2 might not be dry)......day 4 I am back to bra 1. I'm not going to rush around putting on a wash for 1 bra every day!
