Is Cath Kidston EVER acceptable?

Considering a bag for DD's baby swimming (on accounts that some of the prints are kiddish, and the bags seem practical). I just don't know whether it would still look massively naff, even if it would effectively be a "baby bag".

Well I definitely missed that memo and very glad I did too!

I love Cath Kidston and have quite a few of her bags in all shapes and sizes. Also got pens, notebooks, mugs, tablecloth, aprons, etc.. actually a lot of stuff!
I also find it's long lasting and quite simply I don't give a hoot if others want to judge me for using it!

Ps. I'm not a teenager or middle aged either so not sure what age has to do with it Hmm

xraytangocharlie · 30/10/2019 18:41

I have some Cath Kidston oven gloves.

staydazzling · 30/10/2019 19:24

i love Cath Kidston, wht would it not be acceptable?

EbayAddiction · 30/10/2019 19:44

Love it. They are expensive but I have owned two bags bought in the sale. Both have lasted years, especially the waterproof variety. Don't give a crap if others don't like them, I like my bags to be pretty!

Fookadook · 30/10/2019 19:48

When my eldest was a baby all the mums had CK changing bags, I loved mine.

I have a couple of bags, plus tea towels and mugs! I love them! Who cares what anyone else thinks?

Supersimkin2 · 30/10/2019 21:21

It's almost The Ultimate Sign you're out of date but if you like it, buy it. You'll love it. No one else matters about these things.

It's exhausting trying to be fashionable. I'm mid 30s and can't be bothered with that shit anymore. I buy what I like.

Joyce2014 · 30/10/2019 22:58

CK bags last for ages and ages. They used to make a kids school satchel. D’s had two and they lasted all of his primary school years. One had a trains pattern and one was a space pattern. They were a perfect size and withstood a battering.

BabyItsAWildWorld · 31/10/2019 10:05

I like a bit of cath kidson me.
Just a bit mind. Don't overdo it.

I think one child's swimming bag should be fine.

WelshMoth · 31/10/2019 10:12

I was bought an oilskin weekend bag 12 years ago which I use as a kit bag for swimming. Navy with pretty little flowers.

It's hard wearing, waterproof, wipe able, has zip closure, plenty of pockets. Couldn't give a shiny shit what other people say about the design - why should you?!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 31/10/2019 10:24

Personally it's not me at all but when I was pregnant and trying to find the "perfect" baby bag which was a bit silly of me, my Japanese friend bought me a beautiful cherry blossom print CK one, which I used for months and the world didn't end Grin who actually cares what other people think about a bag which isn't even for your own things?
(We use a unisex bag now, as DH does refuse to take the CK bag out!)

AliceLittle · 31/10/2019 11:59

Not in my wardrobe but cute flowers aren't really my style.

Bbq1 · 31/10/2019 12:37

Love Kath Kidston! So do lots of other people. If you don't like, buy another bag- problem solved. "Kath Kidston is never acceptable" Wth?! Honestly...🤦‍♂️🤣

MinesaPinot · 31/10/2019 14:03

If you like it, buy it. Personally I think some of the flowered prints are a bit twee, but I like the spots. The bags always look practical and well made.

I like CK because it's the only place where I can get a triple fold card holder with see through compartments for my paper train ticket, photocard and Oyster card which makes it a lot easier for ticket inspection.
