Work dresses - HELP!

Pixilicious · 16/10/2019 15:05

I always wear dresses to work (I am lazy and can't be bothered to think about what to wear and a dress is the whole outfit) and I am rally struggling to find any that I like this Autumn. I normally buy from Boden, Phase Eight, Next and have scoured House of Fraser, Debenhams and John Lewis websites but can't find a single one I like.

I have to have sleeves and not a pencil skirt, and prefer more structured fabrics rather than floaty - no matter how many Finery dresses I try on I look like a street urchin rather than the floaty ephemeral being in my head. I'm a flat-chested big bummed 10/12.

Budget ~£100 per dress.

Any suggestions for where else I could look??

Esprit. I buy loads of mine from there.

Try Jolie moi. Its online only, reasonably priced. You need to wade through some odd pattern choices but generally they last well and are comfy.

Or Hobbs in the sales.

Artigiano

Great Plains - I've got loads of theirs. I'm similar size to you and go for a M, occasionally a S.

PanicInAmerica · 16/10/2019 16:47

Hobbs!!

Over budget but the best dress. Flattering, comfy and doesn't crease.

What is wrong with last years dresses? I wear mine until they wear out and add to my collection when I see one I must have or know exactly what I want (in which case will scour the internet sometimes for months to find)

Possiblynotever · 24/10/2019 17:47

@DropOfffArtiste.....that is beautiful!!!

wiltshiregaschick · 24/10/2019 17:58

For a structured dress, have you looked at Emily and Fin, or Palava? They have some great prints (depends on your taste!) and pockets!!!!!

GettingPdOff · 24/10/2019 18:10

Big bummed at 10/12 ROFL LOL

wiltshiregaschick · 24/10/2019 18:29

@GettingPdOff other styles are available. @Pixilicious seems to want a structure dress with sleeves, so what is so funny?????

Musmerian · 24/10/2019 18:38

I’m just the same. Can’t be bothered to think outfit. I bought two really nice dresses from French connection for work a few weeks ago. I’ll try and post links. One is a green patterned wrap and the other a really flattering black dress made out of thick material that holds you in.

Hotsquash, Ralph Lauren, Winser London, Bombshell

Freefalling123 · 24/10/2019 18:42

Sosander and Mint Velvet for me.
Mint Velvet has shops, plus concession stores within House of Fraser and John Lewis, plus does online.
Sosander is online only.

GettingPdOff · 24/10/2019 18:50
