Are SNAG tights worth purchasing?

ShitFuckBastardBollocks · 27/09/2019 09:37

Ive spent the last 3 winters in black leggings and dresses.

Am bored of being so boring.

Am a size 16/18 with large mum tum.

Have 5 pairs of bright coloured tights in my basket but 30 quid seems like a lot when I've been wearing £3 leggings for so long 😂

Are they worth it?

Snag are £6.99 with discounts for multiple pairs, I’m not sure where the £30 comes from.

BikeRunSki · 27/09/2019 10:28

And they come packaged in tissue paper, so no plastic waste. apart from the tights being made of plastic themselves of course! Not single use, but they are still only nylon tights with a fairly limited life expectancy.

BikeRunSki · 27/09/2019 10:34

@Geppili, what size do you get?

milienhaus · 27/09/2019 10:35

£30 for 5 Adalind!

I have some and really like them ... but I like Heist more. I find them more comfortable but they are more expensive.

RezCowgirl · 27/09/2019 10:35

I hear such good things and I want to try them out but I wish they would do footless tights.

fantasmasgoria1 · 27/09/2019 10:38

I just had a look. I would not bother with the fishnet tights. I get 2 pairs for 3 pounds from primark and they last me ages. The only way I would pay for these is if they were guaranteed to last many months. My thick winter tights (more than 80 denier, they gave some luxury silky ones which are so nice) from primark last me two winters. I also get some 300 denier ones from home bargains which last two winters. I might order a pair of snag tights and see how they fare.

chemenger · 27/09/2019 10:41

They are more expensive than high street tights, and if high street tights fit you and are comfortable than they’re probably not worth it. If high street tights are instruments of low level torture then they are fantastic value for money.

Apolloanddaphne · 27/09/2019 10:43

It's £30 for 5 pairs

YesQueen · 27/09/2019 10:50

@RezCowgirl they're coming soon apparently
I'm a 16 and 5ft 10 and high street tights don't fit
Snag have been a complete game changer for me, I wear their black ones and sheers for work nearly every day (size F)

sugarbum · 27/09/2019 10:52

I bloody love snag tights and they are worth every penny. However they aren't for everyone.
I'm a size 20 bottom and I wear size F. Size E fit but F are more like comfy leggings. They are brilliant at the beginning of the day, but by the end they have a few wrinkles around the ankle (I'm not quite 5ft5")
They are still the most comfortable tights I've ever worn and they last forever. They are super soft.

SnackBadger · 27/09/2019 10:52

I love them, all other tights roll down on me but these are perfect. I first read about them here and have recommended to so many people since. I enjoy wearing dresses again rather than worrying about the tights underneath.

ShitFuckBastardBollocks · 27/09/2019 10:56

Sorry its £30 for 5 pairs.

Not one x

@fantasmasgoria1 that's great for you, but I'm 5'9" with a 33" inside leg and size 22. Not a chance tights from any high street shop work for the likes of me.

I love Snag tights. They are great for plus size / tall people. Seriously comfortable and no pulling up or fighting with the crotch all day.

drowningincustard · 27/09/2019 11:13

I bought 2 pairs and they are lovely and soft but I need to size down if I buy anymore as I feel like they look baggy and wrinkly on the ankle.
They are quite delicate so I feel like they 'catch' a bit more than other ones but I wonder if that's because they are a bit looser.
They have great colours but funnily enough not quite the shades that suit me.
In principal they are fab but perhaps not for me - which I am gutted about!

fantasmasgoria1 · 27/09/2019 11:17

I wasn't having a go at anyone! I think it is good tights are available in proper sizes and not just generic! As I said I might order some and see if they are good quality.

Geppili · 27/09/2019 12:08

XL

OnTheBorderline · 27/09/2019 12:13

They are very stretchy and comfortable. I buy the 80 denier ones and they come out of the wash looking brand new even after a few months. I had a pair arrive with a tiny hole in them and they sent me a replacement no problem. The sheers ripped the first time I wore them though.

Ilikecheeselotsandlots · 27/09/2019 12:23

Yes. So worth it. I have worn dresses for about 6 years (hate trousers) and have worn snag tights for about a year, some of my snag tights have actually lasted that whole year. Im so happy to have found tights that dont rip after a day and are comfy

Geppili · 27/09/2019 18:25

@feistymumma I ordered some more Manzi tights on the back of this thread. Hope you like them. One habit I changed is not machine washing them if I can avoid it. So hot hand wash. Rinse etc and dry dry. No tumble drying! They make me feel held all day iyswim!

Geppili · 27/09/2019 18:25

Drip dry

Somebody upthread wanted good footless tights.

imnotinthemood · 27/09/2019 18:38

Yes they are worth it and I also bought a pair of Chubb rub shorts which are the best thing ever if you like me have large thighs .
I bought some tights from next and they are great too .

sheshootssheimplores · 27/09/2019 18:46

I’m wearing a pair right now. I only paid something like £30 for six pairs, so I thought that was great economy. I’d certainly order again!

sheshootssheimplores · 27/09/2019 18:49

Here’s a photo of them!! 🤭

Craftycorvid · 27/09/2019 18:54

You have great legs sheshoots.

I just got some Snags for autumn but yet to use them in anger. Great colours and really soft, though as I’m not very tall and they are really stretchy, I could easily have sized down.
