Sick of thick, cakey foundation. Recommend me something light and airy. Tinted moisturiser maybe?

I want to cut back on my foundation.

I alternate between mac and milani and its just too thick.

I want something my skin can breathe in a Nd its light and barely there.
Any ideas?

I love Pixi H2O skintint, it's super light and gives a really lovely "your skin but better" effect.

riotlady · 01/09/2019 17:57

Have you tried mineral makeup? I have some from the English mineral makeup company but lots of places do testers. Light coverage, just evens things up a bit. I hate the feeling of most foundations so it’s great for me. I was scared to try it for years because I have dry skin and thought it would look terrible, but it’s lovely so long as I moisturise

I use Estee Lauder light foundation most days especially in summer, it gives enough coverage but is not cakey. I use the double wear for going out or in summer. Lasts for ages as well

barney11 · 01/09/2019 21:21

Hate the feel of foundation too. Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser feels great, as does Bare Minerals Compexion Rescue.

Pepperwand · 02/09/2019 11:36

Another vote for bare minerals complexion rescue. I swapped to this and have completely stopped wearing foundation.

derekmorgan · 02/09/2019 11:41

Definitely bare minerals complexion rescue. I don't like the feel of foundation but need something as my skin isn't great. I find that complexion rescue makes it look and feel better without being cakey.

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 02/09/2019 11:47

Another vote for the Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser

Miniloso · 02/09/2019 11:51

Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue is fantastic.

nevernotstruggling · 02/09/2019 11:52

Ooooh I want a bare minerals tester now! I stopped wearing foundation composite this year just pressed powder but I tan quickly. I've had so many compoinebrs sovdectgen but I know I will get paper soon and need aonwfyhubf more

thethoughtfox · 02/09/2019 11:54

If you still want full coverage, the NARS weightless one gives great coverage but it feels like water and you only need a drop or two.

RavenLG · 02/09/2019 12:25

Olay CC cream. It's very very lightly tinted moisturiser and serum. Give a lovely dewy effect and just blurs all the nasty bits. I still use concealer under eyes and on spots though too.

SallieSallow · 02/09/2019 12:31

Another vote for Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue. NARS pure radiance tinted moisturiser is very good too (and has an excellent choice of shades) but the Bare Minerals is slightly more light and airy and probably easier to find/test on the high street.

NotquitewhatImeant · 02/09/2019 13:30

Yet another vote for the bare minerals and the nars tinted moisturiser. I use both, I find nars has more coverage but bare minerals is more hydrating. In winter I add a drop of the boots no7 foundation drops to increase coverage and it still feels lovely and light

jamieandjohn · 02/09/2019 13:31

Laura Mercia tinted moisturiser is great. Feel lovely on you can even feel it.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 02/09/2019 13:36

Boots do foundation drops, you mix it into your regular moisturiser. One drop for light coverage through to three drops for heavier coverage.

SistersOfMerci · 02/09/2019 13:36

Another vote for Estée Lauder doublewear light here.

Sexnotgender · 02/09/2019 13:38

Clinique even better glow is the best foundation I’ve come across lately. Light and dewy. You should be able to get a sample so you’ve not wasted anything if you don’t like it.

Blueandredandblue · 02/09/2019 16:48

Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser.

wishing4sun · 02/09/2019 17:27

I love Avon tinted moisturise for those on a budget and it's spf 20.

thebluewidow · 02/09/2019 18:54

I switched from Mac to Bourjois Healthy Mix on the advice of Lisa Eldridge and still can't believe how good it is.

citygirl1961 · 02/09/2019 19:13

I'd say Clinique even better glow but it is quite expensive, should last a long time though.

BakerBoys77 · 02/09/2019 19:37

Try Chanel Eau De Teint. It's a water based serum with colour pigments suspended in the gel. It goes on very smoothly, delivers extremely sheer coverage, feels light as a feather. Makes your skin glow. You can add concealer on top of you want to add extra coverage over any problem areas, dark spots, redness etc. I love it, as hate to wear foundation too.

Cecilandsnail · 02/09/2019 22:21

I LOVE bourjois healthy mix serum gel foundation. No cake whatsoever. I think it's the only foundation I've ever got on with, and is pretty cheap!

LowlyHandMaiden · 02/09/2019 22:29

Clinique tinted moisturiser is great. I have never worn make up at all, but a friend recently persuaded me to try it, and it's great. I can't feel I'm wearing it.

LadyGAgain · 02/09/2019 22:45

Estee double wear light. And if you use a skin oil before applying you will glow!
