Milkshake shampoo

Fudge

Every time

singymummy · 23/08/2019 09:40

John Frieda, colour renew or go blonder

BrokenLink · 23/08/2019 09:48

I make my own purple shampoo and conditioner using Gentian Violet (purchased from Amazon or eBay). You can experiment with the intensity of the purple. Try one teaspoon of Gentian Violet in 300ml of any shampoo. I also put it in my conditioner. The only downside is having to shake the bottle until the purple is completely mixed.

Aveda blue malva shampoo and conditioner

NoBaggyPants · 23/08/2019 10:16

Fudge. They now do the purple in a damage repair formulation, and it's brilliant.

Used to love Blue Malva but it's nothing special for the very high price.

yellowallpaper · 23/08/2019 10:17

Beach blonde from Boots. Not Bleach shampoo which is useless

NoBaggyPants · 23/08/2019 10:20

It's worse than I remember. Blue Malva is £46.50 for a litre (they no longer do the 250ml size), Fudge is £18!

I use Olaplex to keep it in good condition, then just the cheapest purple shampoo I can find as the second shampoo after Olaplex and a toner when I get it done.

Elllllle · 23/08/2019 10:30

Fudge is great but so drying. @NoBaggyPants is the new formulation better? Christophe robin baby blonde is the shiz but ridiculously expensive

pieeye · 23/08/2019 10:46

I used to swear by Fudge but then I discovered Bleach London Silver shampoo. It's incredible.

abitoflight · 23/08/2019 10:48

I use whatever purple shampoo they have in home bargains
About 1.99
Leave it in for 5 mins
I don't bother with purple conditioner

Elllllle · 23/08/2019 11:01

@abitoflight you must have very hardy hair to cope with whatever home bargains has to offer. I'd avoid OP

creamyfudge · 23/08/2019 11:03

Lush Daddy O is gorgeous and smells like Parma violets Smile

yellowallpaper · 23/08/2019 11:06

There are 2 bleach blonde products available. One is rubbish and the other is brilliant. The Lee Stafford one is the right one. Recommended by the platinum linden sales assistant in boots. www.boots.com/beauty/hair/shampoo/lee-stafford-bleach-blonde-shampoo-250ml-10081207

namby · 23/08/2019 11:30

@Elllllle I use cheap purple shampoo, wouldn't describe my hair as "hardy", I use (expensive!) Olaplex: no 4 shampoo, then a purple shampoo, then a no 5 Olaplex conditioner and when I can be arsed no3 leave in. The purple shampoo just lightens my hair while the other products do everything else, that's how my hair dresser advised me to do? (Well not with Olaplex, just said to just do the second shampoo with purple)

NoBaggyPants · 23/08/2019 11:35

@Elllllle I'd not tried the original, but yes, the new one is not drying. I used to swap between the Bleach London one and Kerastase as my hair was so poor and snappy, but with this I've been able to ditch the Kerastase and just use the Fudge one. I wonder if that's why they made it, they knew there was a gap in the market for a purple shampoo that didn't leave your hair in a bad state.

(Agree on Touch of Silver and the even cheaper version in HB. Awful stuff!)

friskybivalves · 23/08/2019 11:38

Kerastase for me. If you buy it in the big bottles on eBay from a reputable seller it's about half price in salons and lasts forever.

babysnowman · 23/08/2019 11:40

Fanola no yellow, I got a litre of it for about a tenner on amazon. I had balayage but all my friends with proper blonde hair swear by it.

Sianlouise432 · 23/08/2019 11:40

I used to buy violet manic panic semi permanent dye and mix a small amount into conditioner. Also that cheap touch of silver purple shampoo in the grey bottle is fine. I had light blonde hair for years.

Elllllle · 23/08/2019 12:33

Oh thanks @NoBaggyPants! I might see if I can get the new fudge then. My friend just told me I can also get christophe robin in travel packs, so if all else fails, I can spread the expense a bit!

HermioneWeasley · 23/08/2019 16:15

I’ve got a hair mask called B unique or similar off amazon and use that once a week.

I didn’t think the fudge purple shampoo was anything special

hollieberrie · 23/08/2019 16:19

Fudge or Bleach London silver..

MissPollyHadADolly19 · 23/08/2019 16:20

I'm using the Lee Stafford bleach blondes toning shampoo, leave it on for around 15 mins.
It's extremely drying so I only use once a week and always use the bleach london restoration mask afterwards!

NotExactlyHappyToHelp · 23/08/2019 20:47

Charles Worthington Ultraviolet. It’s the best I’ve ever tried and I’ve tried them all.
