Best high street mascara that isn’t Benefit They’re Real?

I flip flop between different brands - looking for one I love that I come back to time and again. That used to be Max factor masterpiece max - maybe I should revisit it?

They’re Real didn’t do it for me sadly (which actually I’m not disappointed about as it’s fairly ££). Nothing too spendy.... More interested in lengthening and curling than fullness. Thanks in advance!

Tried lots of mascaras for curling. Found best to be Benefit Roller Lash.

I've tried just about everything and have bought Maybelline Collosal in the yellow tube the last 5x. I buy the one with the purple writing on it as I have sensitive eyes and it comes off with water so I don't need to use makeup remover. Stays put though ,doesn't shift.

I love max factor. I recently revisited the the 2000 calorie one from my youth in black brown and found it actually is fab! The natural feeling wand is great for separating lashes compared to the plasticky spikey ones with other brands.

HeyMonkey · 19/08/2019 10:44

Lancome hypnose is the best ever.

moonpiggle · 19/08/2019 11:52

Rimmel Extra Long Lash. I have used this for years and have never needed or wanted to change. Its £5.99.

Yogagirl123 · 19/08/2019 11:56

Maybelline lash sensational

JoeMaplin · 19/08/2019 11:57

Max factor 2000 calarie waterproof is better than the expensive brands I've tried (have naturally long lashes so hatenit when they go clumpy or spiky)

KondoKonvert · 19/08/2019 11:57

I really like the waterproof version of Lancôme's Monsieur Big. It has great staying power!

CrowleysBentley · 19/08/2019 12:01

Nyx doll eyes is excellent for lengthening and curling, it's a tubing mascara and it's only around £8. That and my cheapo eyelash curler gives me better eyelashes than the diorshow one i used for years.

littlepeas · 19/08/2019 12:23

No7 stay perfect (gold tube). The biggest issue I have with mascaras, no matter how much I spend, is it giving me panda eyes - this one doesn’t!

OpheliaTodd · 19/08/2019 12:24

Nyx Doll Eyes.

Best I’ve ever used especially fir staying out and not smudging.

OpheliaTodd · 19/08/2019 12:24
  • for staying put.
Shelvesoutofbooks · 19/08/2019 12:26

The purple maybelline one, lash sensational

hollieberrie · 19/08/2019 12:26

I love L'oreal Telescopic (I have tiny stubby blonde lashes and it's the best I've found for me)

NuffingChora · 19/08/2019 12:32

Lash sensational (plus ideally the primer which makes a massive difference and is super easy to use) here too.

soloula · 19/08/2019 12:38

My absolute favourite is lan come hypnose. Best value though is maybelline lash sensational

PreseaCombatir · 19/08/2019 12:42

Im quite interested in reading these responses, because I’m absolutely certain that the ‘they're Real’ mascara made my eyelashes snap off! Before using this mascara I had naturally long curly lashes, and this reduced them to little stumpy things?
I’m tempted to try roller lash as I’ve heard it being raved about, but don’t know if I trust the benefit ones now

Shelvesoutofbooks · 19/08/2019 13:45

@PreseaCombatir roller lash was ok for me but that's it, for the price tag you would expect very good or great, not just ok. I found that I would still layer lash sensational over it

Wildthyme · 19/08/2019 17:35

I love Rimmel Scandal Eyes Reloaded. It's a tubing mascara and really lengthening. It's the one in the orange packaging. £5.99.

NC4this123 · 19/08/2019 17:37

Rimmel day 2 night is amazing and I’ve tried loads

ICouldntHelpButWonder · 19/08/2019 17:38

Splash out: Estée Lauder Sumptuous Extreme

Budget:
L'Oréal Miss Manga

Littlechocola · 19/08/2019 17:41

I just got winky lux so extra mascara. It’s amazing! £14 and so worth it!

heidbuttsupper · 19/08/2019 17:41

L'oreal Telescopic

0pheIiaBaIIs · 19/08/2019 18:03

The best mascara I've ever used is also one of the cheapest - I Need A Miracle by Essence. It's about £3 and it doesn't clump, adds volume and length and actually tints your lashes gradually with every application. You can buy it at Wilkinson's but if you don't have one nearby, justmylook.com sell it and it's free postage on all orders.
