HUH - why don't get a Boden pre-season order thing? Is my money not good enough?

I can't wear wool at all. Too itchy unless I wear something underneath which completely covers anywhere the wool might touch.

Gobbledigook · 06/08/2007 23:20

Er, everyone has swooned openly at my hotchpotch top from the summer catalogue - without exception. It looks nice on I promise you (or perhaps it's just that I'd look good in a bin liner? )

The polo necks are fab for winter. I got a violet one in the summer sale for about £20!

Am deffo having the jumper dress.

Quattrocento · 07/08/2007 11:55

My order arrived. The woollies look lovely but I did think horseblanket when I put this on -
www.boden.co.uk/col.asp?segname=Women&styid=WG275&segid=6&gpname=Skirts&desname=Swishy+Applique+Skir t&gpid=26&gen=1
Perhaps that says more about me than the skirt. But the fabric really is that kind of fluffmagnet blanket ... Wondering whether or not to keep it and go out in it with a clothesbrush in my handbag, or just send it back to Johnny.

Turquoise · 07/08/2007 12:06

What does the velvet coat look like on? Wierd shape IMO.

Quattrocento · 07/08/2007 12:17

Oh I love the velvet coat. It's really nice. Weird shape but sort of hangs just right. Not sure it will wear terribly well, but will go with anything. Jeans, skirts, even work stuff. Incredibly versatile. I got it in black though, not sure how versatile the other colours would be.

lucykate · 07/08/2007 12:20

i like 2 of the new hotchpotch tops from the new catalogue, the green one and the cherry coloured one is lovely. not much else tho, like knitted dresses but they don't hang well on me, cling to my belly too much

Cappuccino · 07/08/2007 12:30

it all looks warm

which is nice but alarming

but fear would look boring unless added quirky accessories and tried to look like you were hanging round a market

and were 20

hats omg no

jumpers on their own boring surely? and expensive? or do they last and last and wash like they were made by the fairies?

got fantastic grey wool dress from French Connection sale by way lovely but short sleeves oh lordy will freeze

any suggestions to wear over it appreciated (since this thread is where the woolly style gurus seem to be)

Cappuccino · 07/08/2007 12:30

have to say the skirts are the main things I usually like from Boden

have never bought anything tho

Cappuccino · 07/08/2007 12:31

I have to confirm that gobbledi would look good in a bin liner

lubyluby · 07/08/2007 12:37

had my dispatch email yesterday so hoping comes today or tomorrow.

mainly stuff for the boys and dd but a coupel fo skirts for myself. decided as i am now a mum of 3 and 31 and erhem (whispers, hoping noone will hear) overweight that i shoudl jst face ti and i am mumsy, regardless of if i am wearing monsoon, boden or john rocha i look like a mum, i am a mum therefore i am mumsy! draw the line at flat shoes though (unless flip flops in the summer)

Gobbledigook · 08/08/2007 17:05

Ahhh!

I have seen pics in the new Autumn mags of women wearing fitted polo neck jumper with a baggy/bat winged/ elbow length bell sleeved one over the top. It looks quite nice actually. Worn with jeans tucked in to boots (I might do that this year - avoided it last year as I'm not sure it's that flattering unless skinny).

Capp - the jumpers do wash well. I've got a polo neck from last year and it's still in great nick despite wearing it and washing it to death.

MrsBadger · 08/08/2007 17:24

ooh, now one of you woolly Boden gurus can tell me this...

I know their t-shirts etc come up shortish in the body, but do their jumpers suffer similarly?
Am 5'8" and in need of a brownish one with a high neck
had looked at Lands' End but they are all 'hip length'
Boden say 'mid hip'
I suppose I really want 'mid arse'...

Gobbledigook · 08/08/2007 20:25

They are not mid-arse. Not on me and I'm 5'6. I don't have a problem with the length though.

Quattrocento · 08/08/2007 20:27

Oh Mrs Badger, I am 5' 10" and the jumpers and cardigans are all comfortably mid-arse on me.

CAVEAT: That might not be the best indicator though because my height is all in my legs.

MrsBadger · 08/08/2007 21:18

hmm

will hang fire and root through bargain bins when I am at the Bicester oolay next week
real life is obv the way to shop

(anyone wnat anything from Bicester btw?)

My Boden sale stuff came yesterday! I really like this dress - its shape is really good on me and it's lovely - nicer in RL than in the catalogue.

I am thinking of getting one of their coats for the winter - I like this one prob in brown.

My mum was a bit sniffy about my ordering from Boden! She said something sarcastic about would-be yummy mummies - hah! I wear the stuff I get from them a lot though, so I don't care!

Roseylea · 10/08/2007 17:31

BTW I went to Bicester a few months ago! It's fab isn't it? I want to save up and go back with no particular agenda, a whole day to spare and a good £200 or so to spend... [sigh...]
