Hollywood wax

Hi

So I got my first Hollywood wax today and I am very disappointed.. I was under the impression they remove everything as in even them annoying hairs inside that are hard to shave and around the bum

She asked if I wanted the under bit done too and I said yes..

I didn’t say anything at the time as I’m not one to complain and didn’t realise how bad it was till I got home but she hasn’t got rid of the hair around the bum sorry for the info lol or the little annoying hairs on the inside. My friend said her waxer literally gets rid of everywhere and gets her to get in position so she can get in awkward Spots.

She didn’t get me to move in any positions other than when she did the bum and I was on my front.

The top bit the triangle is the only way I can describe it is stubbly and feels like it does when I shave it!

Is this normal ? I assumed it would have no hair left and be smooth all over I’m very disappointed to say the least

@CTRL yes that’s what I thought would happen was prepared for being asked to be in all sorts of postions.. will not be going back there!

EVERY hair should be gone. Mine even tweezes any small hairs that get missed if necessary. And if it feels stubbly it sounds like she broke the hairs off rather than pulling them out. Honestly I'd be asking for a refund and growing it out and going elsewhere

AppleTree0915 · 14/08/2019 23:02

I recommend Strip. There are a number if them around London and they always do a great job.

Lau247 · 14/08/2019 23:06

The more responses I read the more I realise she’s done a terrible job and I’m getting annoyed lol ! Good job I don’t have. A hot date he’s be shocked I paid for that I only got it done cos I’m going on holiday

She also told me mid way through she bruised me and that it’s normal as it’s my first time ??

I have emailed the salon a complaint !

The first Hollywood I had was a bad experience. She took her sweet time and apologised everytime she whipped the wax off. Definitely find somewhere else. It hurt a lot. There was hair left and I was bleeding.

I found that I preferred the strip wax but others prefer hot wax and I think hot wax is meant to be more gentle for the area!

I used to get it done all the time until I was about 6 months pregnant and it became too painful. I found that the beautician would get me to hold myself where she wanted me Hmm and my legs would be moved all over the place too so she could get every bit of hair off.

Dont let it put you off.

Croquembou · 14/08/2019 23:47

Luxury Wax Bar is amazing. Cheap and you get to watch Friends or Sex in the City (or one weird time Madagascar 2). There's one virtually next to Oxford Circus or one in Exmouth Market - that's on the edge of the east...

(I don't work for them, just think so many waxes in London are ridiculously over-priced)

LemonPrism · 15/08/2019 00:22

Yes a Hollywood Gets everything, though my water sometimes struggles with some of mine as I have strong hair.

I've been moved onto to side, hands and knees, held my own cheeks apart - loads of different ways of doing it. All v embarrassing of course. Are you sure you didn't book a Brazilian?

LemonPrism · 15/08/2019 00:22

Waxer*

LemonPrism · 15/08/2019 00:23

@cokezerothehero £30 for leg AND Hollywood?!? That's cheap even just for the bikini here

LemonPrism · 15/08/2019 00:24

@Turnedouttoes can you recommend the Friends place to me please?!

cokezerothehero · 15/08/2019 00:29

@housewifeoflittleitaly

Jason Shankey Newtownards Road

This woman is a GODDESS

Also - 45 minutes 😍 she is awesome. The best waxer. Ever

100 percent didn’t just book a Brazilian defo booked a Hollywood .. did get me to hold my cheeks apart but that’s about it.

I’ve just had a look at it now in the strong light in the bathroom and oh my god! I’ve got bruising all on my Bikini line on both sides I can only describe it as under the skin bleeding it looks like.. the pubic area.. I showed my friend who hers waxes and she said that is not normal and said wtf is that lol !! Omg I’m glad I’m single as I couldn’t let anyone see my vag looking like this !!!

@cokezerothehero @housewifeoflittleitaly I preferred Anne at the Health and Beauty Centre Botanic than Jason Shankey to be honest. Maybe it’s a new girl but I was very disappointed. Even my partner said I do a better job myself shaving

OP I’m glad you complained

cokezerothehero · 15/08/2019 00:47

Really @Soosiesue? I've been going to JS now for about two years. I did go to someone else once because of a booking mix up..

Lovely woman in Carnmoney. She made me cry and had to peel me off her ceiling 🙈 I was gutted tbh because she was so, so nice but fuck me, I'm still traumatised

StarlightLady · 15/08/2019 03:59

OP. sadly, you have had a bad job. You should be smooth as a bany’s bottom. Allow grow back and go somewhere else. Can you go to where your friend goes?

StarlightLady · 15/08/2019 04:01

Correction: Insomnia and typing don’t mix even if I’m hair free! It should have read “smooth as a baby’s bottom”.

Lau247 · 15/08/2019 05:54

@StarlightLady the place where my friend goes now uses strips my friend said it was hot wax when she went she hasn’t been in a while so that’s what put me off as I’ve heard anywhere with strips is a no go not that this place was any better ! How long till It grows out??

OP posts:
StarlightLady · 15/08/2019 06:32

@Lau247 - l would give it 3 weeks and when you book into your next session, explain your problem exactly as you have done on here. I’ll drop you a PM.

isthismylifenow · 15/08/2019 10:21

If you are bruised, then she did not do a good job.

I have had a lot of waxes and sometimes I cannot get booked with the same person as I do tend to book last minute when I can during work appointments.

I have been bruised a few times on the leg area as you describe, and then I never go back to that waxer again. Some use strip for a tidy up and i find this bruises terribly.

Not everyone can wax the same. To be its a bit like a hairdresser. Once you find one you like, stick with them.

Lau247 · 15/08/2019 14:30

@isthismylifenow the redness has gone down a bit today but the bikini line is still really bruised she didn’t use strip she used hot wax for the whole thing. I do have sensitive skin everywhere on my body and bruise easily but everyone I have spoke to has said bruised is a sign of a bad job

OP posts:
ShirleyPhallus · 15/08/2019 14:34

The last time I was waxed she pulled the outer labia in the wrong direction and tore the really thin skin inside. Now that, you do not want to happen.

I really recommend House of Wax in soho OP. Do not go to the easy London one cos it’s crap but the soho one is fantastic.

Lau247 · 15/08/2019 17:54

@ShirleyPhallus omg that sounds awful ! Thanks for the recommendation I’ll have a look.. the salon have offered to to over the bits missed with a different therapist as I’ve complained

Mine starts me off on all 4's Blush best feeling ever though once it's done ... Your first wax is never the perfect wax & there will be some hairs/stubble remaining, after your second and third, there's nothing at all and is so smooth ... You definitely sound like she's not done it properly. I'd contact her to complete it or go to a researched places to finish it off Grin
