48 and never worn long skirts before. I always felt boring, matronly and like I should be running through a meadow or milking a cow. But I ADORE these two newbies, please show me your gems if you have any of the same ilk?

Love these OP, I’m a wearing a striped cotton midi skirt as we speak, and feeling v holidayish.

Oh I love them, OP! I've recently started wearing this style of skirt, too. Here are the 3 I have.

The zebra stripe has 1 split and is from New Look, the snake print has 2 splits and is from Warehouse (bought via a StitchFix subscription box) and the blue striped one is pleated and from Oliver Bonas. I love them and wear them with white trainers like the OPs.

I’ve got this one from Hush which is chiffon, two layers. Goes with loads of things.

I got one with buttons down the front, it's lovely until I sit down. Then the top bulges open round the buttons. I am going to sew up the holes. Now I will also sit down when trying on.

I've got the Hush Marina skirt too. I love it. In fact after this thread I might wear it tomorrow
