Nude hose: how bad?

I have nice legs other than the fact that my veins are messed up, meaning it appears I have bruises all over them and I also have big disgusting varicose veins.

I am aware that nude hose aren't a favoured look, but I look best in knee length dresses.

I've tried that spray on stuff but it doesn't work for me?

Is nude hose so tragic that I should give up on skirts and dresses entirely? And what to do about the fact that they can be overly hot in summer?

I'm the poster who said that virtually all the women in my office wear tights. It's a law firm and bare legs certainly aren't forbidden, just not very common. I think lawyers are probably just quite happy to err on the side of "stiff and formal" .

@dellacucina - l appreciate your hold up problems. I am one of the regular stocking wearing minority. It’s a myth that suspenders are uncomfortable. Unfortunately, there is a lot of rubbish on the market that is not fit for purpose.

But a good quality suspender belt is both practical and extremely comfy.

@StarlightLady Interesting! My efforts to wear real stockings have gone very poorly. Any particular brands you recommend?

They are a wonder in the summer for me.

Stockings are very much personal choice depending on your style/personal preference but l would avoid one size fits all; reality is that one size fits nobody. Try John Lewis for a selection.

For a quality belt look for Fantasie or Freya, you don’t know you have them on. Importantly avoid anything with single hook fastening at the back; it digs in. Go for an absolute minimum of 2 hooks, 3 or more is better.

I swear by nude tights. I'm not frumpy. They don't look frumpy. I'd be uncomfortable with bare legs and look unprofessional in a skirt suit (because my legs are pale as chicken breasts and blotchy to boot). I even wear 7 or 10 denier ones with summer dresses. They're great!
