Our office is boiling hot. No air con.

So hard to keep cool.

What are you all wearing to keep comfortable but still keeping professional dress code?

I always go for a dress or loose trousers and a smart vest top. I’ve also found these lightweight summer shoes which keep my feet cool

I like these at present www.boden.co.uk/en-gb/exeter-wide-leg-culottes-navy/sty-t0286-nvy with a loose (but smart!) top tucked in and these flats (they are MUCH nicer in "real life" than they look in the photo!).

NHS tunic & M&S navy trousers phew boiling!!

icannotremember · 30/06/2019 09:06

Cropped trousers or floaty trousers and a fitted t shirt mostly. Sandals but have to have covered toes if I go on a ward so I have ballet pumps in a drawer to change into. I like the heat though. All through winter I was miserable and wearing 70 million layers. It's nice to be warm at last.

CountFosco · 30/06/2019 09:10

Cotton shirt dresses. People at work keep saying to me 'oh, you look so fresh and cool in that'. Yup, that's why I'm wearing it.

Bellasblankexpression · 30/06/2019 09:12

Linen! It’s a life saver.

boxlikeamarchhare · 30/06/2019 09:13

I wear sea salt dresses with a linen blazer and ballet flats.

Danceswithlightning · 30/06/2019 09:14

Black jeans and shirts. I'm melting but cant afford to get anything else at the moment. Everytime I go to buy myself clothes the kids need new shoes. I work in a special school so cant have skirts either.

Danceswithlightning · 30/06/2019 09:16

I also have to wear trainers so I can run.

ThisIsNotARealAvo · 30/06/2019 09:55

Linen trousers or patterned jogger type trousers with t shirts. Light cardigan over the top if it's cold when I leave in the morning. I'm a teacher and we are allowed sandals but no backless shoes so I've been wearing ballerinas or Birkenstock Rio. It's very boring but I don't want to get my legs out so I'm winter I wear more dresses with tights and vary my style a lot more.

DarlingCoffee · 30/06/2019 13:07

Has anyone found any nice work-suitable trousers with an elasticated waistband? Blush my stomach isn’t what it used to be!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 30/06/2019 13:15

NHS tunic, black M&S trousers and black lace-up shoes.

At least if I look a sweaty mess then it's out of my control Wink

zucchinieggplant · 30/06/2019 13:25

Ridged I love those flats; how does the sizing come up as I'm usually a 6.5? Though I suspect with the heat my feet will happily swell to a 7.
OP I can sympathise this the hot office, I avoid going out at lunch in this heat just because it's so horrible coming back inside. I tend to wear loose cotton jersey dressed or cropped trousers and (smart, not strappy) sleeveless tops.

RidgedPerfection · 30/06/2019 13:38

zuzzhinieggplant I find the sizing pretty generous. They're very soft and comfortable too.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/06/2019 15:26

Boden Richmond trousers with a Ravello top
Jumpsuits with short sleeves
Midi skirts and a smartest black t-shirt
My workplace is like a sauna - it's really difficult to get right.

SwedishEdith · 30/06/2019 15:36

DarlingCoffee - look at Uniqlo's Ezy trousers. They're my work staple in summer.

JaceLancs · 30/06/2019 16:02

Cotton or linen dresses
Flat pointed shoes

Popuppippa · 30/06/2019 16:31

Whistles and Boden jersey skirts/culottes with linen tops (Whistles/Jigsaw/Boden) or lightweight t-shirts (I have several a-line swing ones from Zara/H&M in a really fine jersey).

My best outfit so far has been a bell sleeve navy linen dress from Crew Clothing that's so comfortable and cool. I wore it with navy ankle strap sandals and felt really smart.

Toddlerteaplease · 30/06/2019 17:21

NHS tunic and trousers. It's hotter than. Hell. The email about being allowed to have bare legs as long as they are in good condition, with out fail always ends up with a discussion about what counts as good condition!

Redcliff · 30/06/2019 17:25

I wore some smart to the knee shorts on friday with a short sleeved shirt and some smart sandals

Desmondo2016 · 30/06/2019 17:27

Grrr at all of you, I'm wearing black combat trousers, a sweat inducing black top, heavy black boots and a stab vest that weighs as much as I do!! Angry

Danceswithlightning · 30/06/2019 17:30

Forgot to say I have to wear protective sleeves and gloves while in the classroom which seem to get hotter and hotter. Guess it's that or be scratched/bitten.

FuglyBitch · 30/06/2019 17:36
