'cool' trainers

I'm after some trainers to wear with leggings/jeans on the school run and general wanderings on days off. I have gym trainers but I prefer keeping them for gym and running and they are great gym shoes (ASICS) but very much gym looking shoes.
Ideally I'd like mega comfy 🤣 I have converse but they are still painful on my heels after a few hours, I also have some of the summer more plimsolls ones but the are narrow on my toes and catch after a full day too 🙈
So I want something cool I keep looking at trainers and no idea what's hideous (sketchers is a no go i assume?) or what's 'in' was looking at Nike air force? Or Nike air Max or maybe superga. Do I need superga if I have converse?
Alot seem to be knit stuff which is a weather dependent shoe really so looking for something that is ok in a shower I'm not going to get soaked feet.
Any suggestions? What do you all wear on days off round town all weathers wear?

New balance or Nike Internationalists are nice, v comfy, not dorky but not crazy fashion either

happytobemrsg · 13/06/2019 11:02

Adidas Sleek trainers are nice (I have white ones)

Bluefrontdoor · 13/06/2019 11:03

I'll look at them thanks, I had new balance ones before but they lost their bounce quick and became uncomfortable

Any other suggestions?

I've just bought some VeJa trainers. Look nice with dresses.

Bluefrontdoor · 13/06/2019 11:35

I have seen Veja but I hadn't heard of the brand so was unsure, I'll re look at them if they are a good brand 🙈 I'm so useless and my kids are too young to fill me in on the do and don'ts 🤣

Where did you buy your Vegas Gumps? The Meghan Markle effect had sold them out everywhere the last time I was looking!

Bloomburger · 13/06/2019 14:30

Air & Grace, they have memory foam and are super comfy and v cool, I found Veja rubbed the back of my heels to bits!

TheExtraGuineaPig · 13/06/2019 16:28

They have Veja in Offspring

Bluefrontdoor · 13/06/2019 16:55

I saw Veja on office online.
So I've now started looking at Adidas Stan Smith, Adidas superstar and Nike air force are any of these ok for a 37 year old woman (who barely wears make up and is plus size 😭 ) or are they too teen 🙈

I've just bought white Fitflop Rally trainers and I love them - mega comfy, lightweight and go well with jeans and dresses.

happytobemrsg · 13/06/2019 17:52

Puma Cali white trainers are also supposed to be great, especially for more shapely women. I read something about the trainer being a bit chunkier (less plimsole type) balancing everything out a bit. I tried them & they looked fab on I must say.

emilyhamptoncakeslice · 13/06/2019 18:13

I've arrived late to the Stan Smith game and they took a bit of breaking in but I now absolutely love them - smart, supportive & good in the rain

Processedpea · 13/06/2019 18:16

I have vejas but they aren't as comfy as Nike internationalist

CaptainPovey · 13/06/2019 18:20

Rollerbird · 13/06/2019 18:26

Freyasmum1 · 13/06/2019 18:26

Fila Disruptor or Adidas Falcon

Soyalatteforme · 13/06/2019 18:41

Caval. 💵 but 😍.

megletthesecond · 13/06/2019 18:45

Nike Internationalist.

I buy a new pair every spring Blush.

lucyinlove · 13/06/2019 19:31

Adidas is sleek, as for comfort wise, you'd really need to check different shoes for yourself, since everyone had different feet. Lite Racer by Adidas looks comfy!

SinkGirl · 13/06/2019 21:13

Anything by FitFlop - comfiest shoes on earth. I’ve just had to bin by FitFlop flip flops, they lasted me five years and I wore them all summer every year.

Bluefrontdoor · 13/06/2019 21:36

I just fitflop ballet pumps for work and fitflop sandals but wasn't sure if the trainers were cool.
I don't like the Adidas internationalist I have a new balance pair similar and they just don't do it for me 🤔
Armed with brands that are cool I will hit the shops again and try some on

I've got dark red New Balance and they go with everything. Love Adidas Gazelles too though

Verite1 · 14/06/2019 10:36

I love my Stan Smiths. I have 4 in different colours. Timeless classics but still really comfy. Just make sure you don’t get vintage style by accident (not as comfy).

federationrep · 14/06/2019 12:02

I have Stan Smiths, cream with flowers embroidered on tongue. I think that stops them being too young looking for me (I'm 47). I've just bought zebra Superstars and I bloody love them and don't care if they're too young.
